چکیده

ment of wireless communication systems in recent years, especially for broadband multiuser communication systems which severely suffer from intersymbol interference (ISI) and multiple access interference (MAI). This article reviews batch processing algorithms for blind equalization using higher-order statistics for mitigation of the ISI induced by single-input, single-output channels as well as of both the ISI and MAI induced by multiple-input, multiple-output channels. In particular, this article reviews the typical inverse filter criteria (IFC) based algorithm, super-exponential algorithm, and constant modulus algorithm along with their relations, performance, and improvements. Several advanced applications of these algorithms are illustrated, including blind channel estimation, simultaneous estimation of multiple time delays, signal-tonoise ratio (SNR) boost by blind maximum ratio combining, blind beamforming for source separation in multipath, and multiuser detection for direct sequence/code division multiple access (DS/CDMA) systems in multipath.

An Optimal Mmse Fuzzy Predictor for Siso and Mimo Blind Equalization

The present work deals with the research of optimal solutions in unsupervised and nonlinear signal processing. The proposed framework is based on nonlinear prediction, to be implemented by a fuzzy filter structure. Our main result consists in establishing the optimality of the approach by showing the equivalence between the minimum mean squared error estimator and the fuzzy predictor. The resul...

In: Icassp97 Pp.1849-1852 Blind Equalization of Switching Channels by Ica and Learning of Learning Rate

In the literature of blind equalization, algorithms developed for equalizing an SISO or SIMO channel fail sometimes when the channel condition is poor. We derive blind equalization algorithms from blind separation algorithms to equalize the SISO channel with fractionally sampling. The approach is also applied to equalize SIMO or MIMO channels. For switching channels, we use an updating rule to ...

Single-Carrier Frequency-Domain Equalization for Orthogonal STBC over Frequency-Selective MIMO-PLC channels

In this paper we propose a new space diversity scheme for broadband PLC systems using orthogonal space-time block coding (OSTBC) transmission combined with single-carrier frequency-domain equalization (SC-FDE). To apply this diversity technique to PLC channels, we first propose a new technique for combining SC-FDE with OSTBCs applicable to all dispersive multipath channels impaired by impulsive...

Blind equalization and source separation with MSK inputs

Channel equalization and identi cation appear as key issues in improving wireless communications. It is known that the linearization of the GMSK modulation (used in the European standard GSM) leads to a continuous phase OQPSK which can be considered as a Minimum Shift Keying (MSK) modulation. Thus methods of equalization and identi cation when the channel is input by MSK modulated signals is wo...
