Elastic pp and p̄p scattering in the models of unitarized pomeron
نویسنده
چکیده
Elastic scattering amplitudes with pomeron singularity by construction meeting the main unitarity bounds valid at high energy are considered. Restrictions for a form of pomeron singularity are stressed. The models of double and triple (at t = 0) pomeron pole with additional terms important for low energies are compared with all existing experimental data on pp and p̄p total and differential cross sections at √ s ≥ 5 GeV and |t| ≤ 6 GeV2. Good agreement with data is obtained for both models, however the dipole pomeron model gives a slightly better description of the data. Predictions made for the LHC energy demonstrate a big enough difference of the models at t ≈ −0.4 GeV2. Such a difference, apparently allows to choose a more reasonable model after TOTEM measurements.

Analytic Amplitudes for Hadronic Forward Scattering : COMPETE update
We consider several classes of analytic parametrizations of hadronic scattering amplitudes, and compare their predictions to all available forward data (pp, p̄p, πp,Kp, γp, γγ,Σp). Although these parametrizations are very close for √ s ≥ 9 GeV, it turns out that they differ markedly at low energy, where a universal Pomeron term ∼ ln s enables one to extend the fit down to √ s = 4 GeV. We present...
متن کاملImpact-Picture Phenomenology for π±p, K±p and pp, p̄p Elastic Scattering at High Energies
We present an extension to πp and Kp elastic scattering at high energies of the impactpicture phenomenology we first proposed more than twenty years ago, for pp and p̄p elastic scattering. We show, in particular, that the analytic form of the opacity function for the proton obtained previously is compatible with the experimental results on πp and Kp elastic scattering at high energies. It is pro...

We consider simple-pole descriptions of soft elastic scattering for pp, p̄p, πp and Kp. We work at t and s small enough for rescatterings to be neglected, and allow for the presence of a hard pomeron. After building and discussing an exhaustive dataset, we show that simple poles provide an excellent description of the data in the region −0.5 GeV2 ≤ t ≤ −0.1 GeV2, 6 GeV≤ √s ≤ 63 GeV. We show that...

Integral and derivative dispersion relations in the analysis of the data on pp and ¯ pp forward scattering. Abstract Integral and derivative dispersion relations (DR) are considered for the pp and ¯ pp forward scattering amplitudes. A new representation for the derivative DR, valid at lower energies than the standard one, is obtained. The data on the total cross sections of pp(¯ pp) interaction...
