Rapid-Prototyping Emulation System using a SystemC Control System Environment and Reconfigurable Multimedia Hardware Development Platform

چکیده
This paper describes research into the suitability of using SystemC for rapid prototyping of embedded systems. SystemC[1][2] communication interface protocols[3][4] are interfaced with a reconfigurable hardware system platform to provide a real-time emulation environment, allowing SystemC simulations to be directly translated into real-time solutions. The consequent Rapid Prototyping Emulation System Platform (PESP), suitable for the implementation of consumer level multimedia systems, is described, including the system architecture, SystemC Controller model, the FPGA configured MicroBlaze CPU system and additional logic devices implemented on the Multimedia development board, illustrated in the context of a typical application.

This paper describes the Communications Interface Protocol that was implemented successfully as a co-emulation modelling interface between SystemC model and a reconfigurable hardware platform. The information presented represents part of research into the suitability of using SystemC, in conjunction with a suitable reconfigurable hardware system platform, to provide a real-time emulation enviro...
متن کاملEmbedded System Architecture Design Based on Real-Time Emulation
This paper presents a new approach to the design of embedded systems. Due to restrictions that state-of-theart methodologies contain for hardware/software partitioning, we have developed an emulation based method using the facilities of reconfigurable hardware components, like Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGA). Our own emulation environment called the SPYDER tool set was used; it is best su...
متن کاملA co-simulation framework for design of time-triggered automotive cyber physical systems
Designing cyber-physical systems (CPS) is challenging due to the tight interactions between software, network/platform, and physical components. Automotive control system is a typical CPS example and often designed based on a time-triggered paradigm. In this paper, a co-simulation framework that considers interacting CPS components for assisting time-triggered automotive CPS design is proposed....
