What a neural net needs to know about emotion words

چکیده

We describe an empirical approach to identifying the kind of task that an emotion recognition system could usefully address. Three levels of information are elicited – a basic emotion vocabulary, a basic representation in ‘evaluation-activation space’ of the meaning of each word, and a richer ‘schema’ representation. The results confirm that an approach of this kind is feasible. Key-Words: emotion recognition, semantics, neural network CSCC'99 Proceedings, Pages:5311-5316

Investigating the semantic representation of Chinese emotion words with co- occurrence data and self-organizing maps neural networks

Introduction Regarding the investigation of the word representations, previous researchers often asked participants to rate the similarities between emotion words (Barrett, 2004; Cheng, Cheng, Cho, & Chen, 2013; Romney, Moore, & Rusch, 1997), or to give the scores upon certain psychological dimensions (e.g. valence, arousal, et. al) (Bradley & Lang, 1999; Cho, Chen, & Cheng, 2013; Morgan & Heis...

Probing the structure and typicality of Chinese emotion words using Neural Networks

Previous studies on the structure of emotion concepts often use multidimensional scaling (MDS) or other clustering methods to plot different emotion words upon 2D space or dendrogram, representing each emotion as a point or branch within the structure, and the categories of emotions are determined accordingly. Although there seems to offer the conceptual representations of typical or atypical e...
