چکیده

Wind and wave dynamic loads might cause undesirable vibrations that affect the structure integrity and system performance of floating offshore wind turbines. This paper addresses the problem of dynamic load mitigation by using semiactive control techniques with the tuned liquid column dampers placed on the turbine’s tower. The control law is formulated based on the mixed H2/H∞ methods for ensuring the system stability and reliability. Furthermore, the proposed controller only uses output feedback so as to avoid the dependence on the knowledge of the states of the system.

On the Modeling of Spar-type Floating Offshore Wind Turbines

In this paper an overview about floating offshore wind turbines (FOWT) including operating conditions, property and applicability of the barge, tension-leg, and spar floating platforms is described. The spar-floating offshore wind turbines (S-FOWT) have advantages in deepwater and their preliminary design, numerical modeling tools and integrated modeling are reviewed. Important conclusions abou...

DIPL - 187 Reduced Model Design of a Floating Wind Turbine

Floating platform concepts offer the prospect of harvesting offshore wind energy at deep water locations for countries with a limited number of suitable shallow water locations for bottom-mounted offshore wind turbines. The floating spar-buoy concept has shown promising experimental and theoretical results. Although various codes for a detailed simulation exist the purpose of this work is to el...

Floating Offshore Wind Turbines: Tension Leg Platform and Taught Leg Buoy Concepts Suppoting 3-5 Mw Wind Turbines

The development is presented of two low weight, motion resistant stiff floating wind turbine concepts for deployment in water depths ranging from 30 to several hundred meters in seastates with wave heights up to 30 meters supporting 3-5 MW onshore wind turbines. The floating wind turbines may be fully assembled at a coastal facility in their upright position prior to being towed to the offshore...

Preliminary Design of a Multi-Column TLP Foundation for a 5-MW Offshore Wind Turbine

Currently, floating wind turbines (FWTs) may be the more economical and suitable systems with which to exploit offshore wind energy in deep waters. Among the various types of floating foundations for offshore wind farms, a tension leg platform (TLP) foundation can provide a relatively stable platform for currently available offshore wind turbines without requiring major modifications. In this s...

SHM of Floating Offshore Wind Turbines— Challenges and First Solutions

The paper presents an integrated SHM-system for floater, moorings, tower, nacelle and rotor blades. Its core is based on a multivariate SHM-system for rotor blades with three different measuring techniques accompanied by appropriate signal processing approaches:  Acoustic Emission (AE) is used for identification of relative small damages at the whole blade, e.g. bursts of fibres, cracks of bon...
