Low-lying Fermion Modes of N F = 2 Improved Wilson Fermions

چکیده
We present preliminary results for the topological charge and susceptibility determined from the low-lying eigenmodes of the Wilson-Dirac operator. These modes have been computed on dynamical configurations with N f = 2 non-perturbatively improved Wilson fermions. We compare our results with the eigenmodes of fermions in the quenched approximation.

Topology and Low Lying Fermion Modes
Low lying fermionic modes are believed to play an important rôle in QCD. This review covers some of the recent developments in the study of the relationship of low lying fermion modes with topology in QCD. The study of topology in general is not covered here. In particular, fermionic eigenmodes (including zero modes) are important in 3 areas discussed here: (1) low lying modes in particle spect...
متن کاملScaling test of fermion actions in the Schwinger model
We discuss the scaling behaviour of different fermion actions in dynamical simulations of the 2-dimensional massive Schwinger model. We have chosen Wilson, hypercube, twisted mass and overlap fermion actions. As physical observables, the pion mass and the scalar condensate are computed for the above mentioned actions at a number of coupling values and fermion masses. We also discuss possibiliti...
متن کاملLow lying nucleons from chirally improved fermions
There are two competing pictures for understanding baryon physics in different mass regions. For hadrons with heavy quarks linear confinement and perturbative gluon exchange corrections [1] provide a satisfactory description. For lighter quarks towards the chiral limit we have to expect manifestations of spontaneous chiral symmetry breaking [2]. Lattice studies can shed light on the relevant me...
متن کاملChirally Improving Wilson Fermions * †
It is possible to improve the chiral behaviour and the approach to the continuum limit of correlation functions in lattice QCD with standard and twisted Wilson fermions by taking arithmetic averages of correlators computed in theories regularized with Wilson terms of opposite sign. To avoid the problem of the spurious zero-modes of the Wilson–Dirac operator, twisted-mass lattice QCD should be u...
متن کاملDetermining gA using non-perturbatively O(a) improved Wilson fermions
On the lattice, for Wilson fermions, the chiral Ward Identity is only approximately true, due to discretisation effects. We have a finite renormalisation constant ZA(g) to determine by demanding that a Ward Identity is obeyed to O(a) (with n = 2 for O(a) improved fermions). The ALPHA collaboration [1] has found ZA for quenched fermions using the Schrödinger functional and PCAC; here, alternativ...
