Motion Abstraction and Mapping with Spatial Constraints

چکیده
A new technique is introduced to abstract and edit motion capture data with spatial constraints. Spatial proximities of end-e ectors with tagged objects during zero-crossings in acceleration space are used to isolate signi cant events and abstract constraints from an agent's action. The abstracted data is edited and applied to another agent of a di erent anthropometric size and a similar action is executed while maintaining the constraints. This technique is speci cally useful for actions involving interactions of a human agent with itself and other objects.

Oceanographic images obtained from environmental satellites by a wide range of sensors allow characterizing natural phenomena through different physical measurements. For instance Sea Surface Temperature (SST) images, altimetry data and ocean color data can be used for characterizing currents and vortex structures in the ocean. The purpose of this thesis is to derive a relatively complete frame...
متن کاملA Region-based Direction Heuristic for Solving Underspecified Spatio-temporal Planning Problems
The paper addresses an underspecified spatio-temporal planning problem, which encompasses weakly specified constraints such as different kinds of activities together with corresponding spatial assignments such as locations and regions. Alternative temporal orders of planed activities together with underspecified spatial assignments available at different levels of granularity lead to a high com...

This paper briefly reports on the current architecture and status of EDISON, a computer model being designed to . ( l ) understand natural language descriptions of mechanical devices and (2) generate novel device representations through heuristic strategies of mutation and analogy. The representational constructs in EDISON must support both of these tasks and include: goal/plan information, spa...
متن کاملSpatial Pose Trees: Creating and Editing Motions Using a Hierarchy of Low Dimensional Control Spaces
Spatial pose trees are a representation of motion that organizes motion data as a hierarchy of components. Each component has an associated set of target poses, as well as a user–editable 3D control space for creating motion by pose interpolation. This hierarchical partitioning, along with a selective display of poses relevant to a particular motion component, allows users to easily navigate la...
متن کاملOptimal Trajectory Planning of a Mobile Robot with Spatial Manipulator For Spatial Obstacle Avoidance
Mobile robots that consist of a mobile platform with one or many manipulators mounted on it are of great interest in a number of applications. Combination of platform and manipulator causes robot operates in extended work space. The analysis of these systems includes kinematics redundancy that makes more complicated problem. However, it gives more feasibility to robotic systems because of the e...
