An Extended Semantic Foundation For Object-Z
نویسنده
چکیده
The industrial potential of object-oriented formal methods is enormous. The potential of these methods has largely gone unrealised however, due to weaknesses in the underlying semantic foundations. This paper addresses that problem. We identify the \hard" problems in the area as: (i) the need to model object identity; (ii) the relationship between structure and behaviour; and, (iii) the (sometimes connicting) notions of modularity and compositionality. The semantic foundations of Object-Z are then extended to provide a framework in which these ideas are accommodated.

An Overview of Mobile Object-Z
Mobile Object-Z (MobiOZ) is an extended notation of Object-Z with mobile and communication primitives required for mobile agent applications. In this paper, we will give an overview of the MobiOZ language features and present its semantic foundation. We also demonstrate expressiveness of the notation through a number of examples.
متن کاملDeclarative Semantics in Object-Oriented Software Development - A Taxonomy and Survey
One of the modern paradigms to develop an application is object oriented analysis and design. In this paradigm, there are several objects and each object plays some specific roles in applications. In an application, we must distinguish between procedural semantics and declarative semantics for their implementation in a specific programming language. For the procedural semantics, we can write a ...
متن کاملA Semantic Foundation for TCOZ in Unifying Theories of Programming
Unifying Theories of Programming (UTP) can provide a formal semantic foundation not only for programming languages but also for more expressive specification languages. We believe UTP is particularly well suited for presenting the formal semantics for integrated specification languages which often have rich language constructs for state encapsulation, event communication and real-time modeling....
متن کاملA Comparative and Contrastive Study on the Meaning Extension of Color Terms in Persian and English
We deal with a wide range of colors in our daily life. They are such ubiquitous phenomena that is hard and next to impossible to imagine even a single entity (be it an object, place, living creature, etc) devoid of them. They are like death and tax which nobody can dispense with. This omnipresence of colors around us has also made its way through abstract and less tangible entities via the inte...
متن کاملODMG Extension of Composite Objects in OODBMS: A Proposal
This paper proposes an extension of ODMG (Object Data Management Group) standard for the Object-Oriented Database Management Systems (OODBMS). The extension concentrates on composite objects, which provides a new paradigm, and also improves traditional OODBMS to meet the needs arising from the aggregation hierarchy. Currently in ODMG, the semantic of the aggregation relationship is explored at ...
