Performance Evaluation of Expert Teams in Technological Environments

PROBLEM STATEMENT Many tasks are beyond the capabilities of single individuals, and so must be carried out by teams. This is particularly the case for teams working in complex technological environments, such as air traffic control or surgical teams. Analysis of a team’s performance is vital for two reasons. At the comparative level, it may be necessary to identify the best team among the available candidates for a mission. At the systemic level, evaluation is needed to determine whether a training program or proposed equipment change truly leads to improved performance.
