Insider Trading Equilibrium in a Market with Memory
نویسندگان
چکیده
We consider the Kyle-Back model for insider trading, with the difference that the classical Brownian motion noise of the noise traders is replaced by the noise of a fractional Brownian motion BH with Hurst parameter H > 12 (when H = 1 2 , B H coincides with the classical Brownian motion). Heuristically, for H > 12 this means that the noise traders has some “memory”, in the sense that any increment from time t on has a positive correlation with its value at t. (In other words, the noise trading is a persistent stochastic process). It also means that the paths of the noise trading process are more regular than in the classical Brownian motion case. We obtain an equation for the optimal (relative) trading intensity for the insider in this setting, and we show that when H → 1 2 the solution converges to the solution in the classical case. Finally, we discuss how the size of the Hurst coefficient H influences the optimal performance and portfolio of the insider.

The impact of public information on insider trading *
We study the impact of public information on insider trading in the context of Kyle’s speculative market. The linear Nash equilibrium is characterized analytically. We find that public information is detrimental for the insider and beneficial for the liquidity traders. The insider puts a negative weight on the public information in formulating his optimal strategy. The equilibrium price becomes...
متن کاملInsider Trading with a Random Deadline by René Caldentey
We consider a model of strategic trading with asymmetric information of an asset whose value follows a Brownian motion. An insider continuously observes a signal that tracks the evolution of the asset’s fundamental value. The value of the asset is publicly revealed at a random time. The equilibrium has two regimes separated by an endogenously determined time T . In [0 T ), the insider gradually...
متن کاملEquilibrium model with default and insider ’ s dynamic information ∗
We consider an equilibrium model à la Kyle-Back for a defaultable claim issued by a given firm. In such a market the insider observes continuously in time the value of firm, which is unobservable by the market makers. Using the construction of a dynamic Bessel bridge of dimension 3 in [5], we provide the equilibrium price and the optimal insider’s strategy. As in [3], the information released b...

An insider continuously observes a signal that tracks the evolution of the asset fundamental value. At a random time a public announcement reveals the current value of the asset to all the traders. متن کاملInsider Trading With Different Risk Attitudes
This paper investigates the effect of different risk attitudes on the financial decisions of two insiders trading in the stock market. We consider a static version of the Kyle (1985) model with two insiders. Insider 1 is risk neutral while insider 2 is risk averse with negative exponential utility. First, we prove the existence of a unique linear equilibrium. Second, we obtain somewhat surprisi...
