Mimicking the QCD equation of state with a dual black hole

چکیده
We present numerical and analytical studies of the equation of state of translationally invariant black hole solutions to five-dimensional gravity coupled to a single scalar. As an application, we construct a family of black holes that closely mimics the equation of state of quantum chromodynamics at zero chemical potential. In affectionate memory of A. Chamblin

The phase transition of corrected black hole with f(R) gravity
In this letter, we consider static black hole in f(R) gravity. We take advantage from corrected entropy and temperature and investigate such black hole. Finally, we study the $ P - V $ critically and phase transition of corrected black hole with respect to entropy and temperature. Here also, we obtain the heat capacity for the static black hole in $ f(R) $ gravity. This calculation help us...
متن کاملThe RHIC fireball as a dual black hole
We argue that the fireball observed at RHIC is (the analog of) a dual black hole. In previous works, we have argued that the large s behaviour of the total QCD cross section is due to production of dual black holes, and that in the QCD effective field theory it corresponds to a nonlinear soliton of the pion field. Now we argue that the RHIC fireball is this soliton. We calculate the soliton (bl...
متن کاملOPTIMAL SOLUTION OF RICHARDS’ EQUATION FOR SLOPE INSTABILITY ANALYSIS USING AN INTEGRATED ENHANCED VERSION OF BLACK HOLE MECHANICS INTO THE FEM
One of the most crucial problems in geo-engineering is the instability of unsaturated slopes, causing severe loss of life and property worldwide. In this study, five novel meta-heuristic methods are employed to optimize locating the Critical Failure Surface (CFS) and corresponding Factor of Safety (FOS). A Finite Element Method (FEM) code is incorporated to convert the strong form of the Richar...
متن کاملAdS-CFT and the RHIC fireball
In this talk I will review my work on the description of high energy scattering in QCD, in particular the fireball observed at RHIC, as well as predictions for the LHC. The aim is to see how much we can learn about actual QCD (nonsupersymmetric, Nc = 3), without knowing the details of the gravity dual of QCD. Experimental predictions are consistent with data, and important consequences are obta...
متن کاملThe soft Pomeron from AdS-CFT
In previous treatments, high energy QCD was analyzed using AdS-CFT a la Polchinski-Strassler. Black hole production in AdS was responsible for power law behaviour of the total QCD cross section. Using the simplest self-consistent gravity dual assumption, that cut-off AdS5 is supplemented by a 5d space X5 of effective “average” size much larger than the scale of AdS5, we find an energy behaviour...
