چکیده
Hsiu-Hui Shih and Ming-Shiou Jeng (2002) Hysterothylacium aduncum (Nematoda: Anisakidae) infecting a herbivorous fish, Siganus fuscescens, off the Taiwanese coast of the Northwest Pacific. Zoological Studies 41(2): 207-214. Hysterothylacium aduncum (Rudolphi, 1802) infecting a herbivorous fish, Siganus fuscescens, and 1 invertebrate zooplankton, a chaetognath, is reported off the Taiwanese coast of the Northwest Pacific. Third-stage larvae were found in the body coelom of the chaetognath, Sagitta sp. Fourth-stage larvae and adults were recovered from the stomach and intestines of S. fuscescens. Nematodes are described, measured, and illustrated. The prevalence of parasitic infection, mean intensity, and abundance were calculated from samples collected from 2 different Taiwanese coastal locations. The life cycle of H. aduncum, involving the host species considered, is also postulated.http://www.sinica.edu.tw/zool/zoolstud/41.2/208.pdf

The presence of the anisakid nematode Hysterothylacium gadi aduncum (Rudolphi, 1802) is reported for the first time in cultured rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss Walbaum, 1792) as a new host in freshwater farms from Turkey. This marine parasitic nematode is thought to complete the life cycle in fresh water and rainbow trout could act as the definitive host for this parasite under fresh water c...

Hysterothylacium winteri sp. n. (Nematoda: Anisakidae) was collected from the intestine of a marine-estuarine fish, Eleginops maclovinus (Valenciennes) (Perciformes: Eleginopsidae), from Abtao in the Gulf of Ancud, Chile. Sixteen (51.6%) out of 31 fish were infected; the intensity was 1-10 (mean 4) worms/host. The new species belongs to the group of congeners possessing one double pair of posta...

The activity of alpha-amylase, glucoamylase, maltase, trehalase, glycogen phosphorylase and trehalose phosphorylase was measured in extracts from larval and adult Hysterothylacium aduncum (Rudolphi, 1802), parasitic nematode of marine fish. The content of glycogen and trehalose in the worm's body was also determined. Both the hydrolytic and phosphorolytic paths of sugar decomposition are presen...

Third-stage larvae (L3) of Hysterothylacium sp. were collected by the first time in juveniles of pirarucu Arapaima gigas farmed in the Rio Preto da Eva, Amazonas state. Ninety-eight (98) out of 100 examined fish showed to be parasitized. Five hundred and ninety larvae of Hysterothylacium sp. were collected from the intestines, stomach and pyloric caeca. The mean intensity of parasite indexes wa...
