Simultaneous Vertebral Artery Dissection and Contralateral Posterior Inferior Cerebellar Artery Dissecting Aneurysm

چکیده
The optimal treatment and appropriate follow-up period for an unruptured vertebral artery (VA) and/or posterior inferior cerebellar artery (PICA) dissection have not been established. Decisions regarding treatment of these vascular lesions are usually based on the manifesting symptoms and changes in radiologic findings during the follow-up period. We experienced a patient who had a simultaneous unruptured VA dissection and a contralateral PICA dissecting aneurysm. We did not find such a case in other literature.

Antegrade Recanalization of Parent Artery after Internal Trapping of Ruptured Vertebral Artery Dissecting Aneurysm
We report a patient with a ruptured vertebral artery (VA) dissecting aneurysm that was treated by internal trapping of the aneurysm and parent artery using detachable coils with subsequent antegrade recanalization of occluded vertebral artery during the follow-up period. A 38-year-old man was admitted with a ruptured right VA dissecting aneurysm just distal to origin of right posterior inferior...

We present a case of a ruptured vertebral artery dissecting aneurysm that mimicked a presumed vascular anomaly by CTA (Computerized Tomographic Angiography). A parenchymal arteriovenous malformation (AVM) or a dural arteriovenous fistula (DAVF) at the craniocervical junction can present with a subarachnoid hemorrhage and cannot be differentiated from a vertebral artery dissection by non invasiv...
متن کاملThe Strategy of Endovascular Treatment for Ruptured Vertebral Artery Dissecting Aneurysm, Based on Its Location Relating to the Position of the Posterior Inferior Cerebellar Artery Origin
Objective: We evaluated the outcomes of endovascular therapy for ruptured vertebral artery dissecting aneurysm (VADA), focusing on its location relating to the posterior inferior cerebellar artery (PICA) origin. Materials and Methods: Patients with ruptured VADA, treated in our hospital from January 2007 to July 2015, were divided into four groups with respect to the location of the PICA origin...
متن کاملVertebral artery dissecting aneurysm treated by proximal occlusion and posterior inferior cerebellar artery reconstruction with fenestrated clips. Case report.
A 57-year-old man presented with subarachnoid hemorrhage caused by a dissecting aneurysm of the vertebral artery close to the origin of the posterior inferior cerebellar artery (PICA). The aneurysm was treated successfully with two fenestrated clips preserving the efferent artery with anterograde blood flow without PICA anastomosis. The postoperative course was uneventful. Postoperative angiogr...

The treatment of bilateral vertebral artery dissecting aneurysms (VADAs) presenting with subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) is still challenging. The authors report a rare case of bilateral VADA treated with coil trapping of ruptured VADA and covered stents implantation after multiple unsuccessful stent assisted coiling of the contralateral unruptured VADA. A 44-year-old woman was admitted to our ho...
