A Technology of Adaptive Link Insertion in Educational Hypermedia

This paper describes an adaptive technology of link insertion, used in educational hypermedia. It also presents an adaptive hypermedia system that uses this technology and the results of system evaluation in a real environment. The described adaptive system integrates elements of knowledge uncertainty into the user model. This model is then used for system adaptation, which builds on adaptive link insertion, in addition to traditional adaptive navigation support technologies, like annotation and direct guidance.
