چکیده

In this paper, we investigated the effect of chromaticity and luminance of surround to decide subject neutral white, and conducted a mathematical model of adapting degree for environment. Factors for adapting degree consist of two parts, adapting degree of ambient chromaticity and color saturation. These can be applied to color appearance models (CAM), actually improve the performance of color matching of CAM, hence would produce the method of image reproduction to general display systems. key words: incomplete adaptation, subjective neutral, adapting degree, color saturation

Establishment of Display White Point Considering Adaptative Neutral Point for the Various Viewing Conditions

In typical display viewing conditions, observers are perceptible as different color temperatures at the luminance levels, illuminant, and reference white of display. In the same luminance level, adaptive neutral point(NP) of human visual system(HVS) is determined by not only illuminant’s correlated color temperature(CCT) but also display reference white. However, if luminance level is not as hi...

Improvement of Incomplete Chromatic Adaptation Model for Facial Pattern Images

We improved the incomplete chromatic adaptation model proposed by Fairchild to reproduce facial pattern images under various illuminants. The coefficients of color balance in Fairchild model were changed to improve the color reproduction. Psychophysical experiments using memory matching technique were performed to select the optimum coefficients of color balance for facial pattern images. The i...

A Study of Relationship Between Color Inconstancy Level and CIELAB Color Coordinates

In commercial point of view, it is of great interest to find colors with high color constancy level. Color constancy as a relatively property of object’s appearance could be affected by different factors. In this article, the color inconstancy index of CMCCON02 and CIELAB color coordinate of 1269 samples of Munsell at CIELchº color system to study any correlations, was calculated. The correspon...

Compensation of De-saturation Effect in HDR Images Based on Real Scene Adaptation Analysis

Chromatic adaptation transform is used to many color appearance models. Also, the iCAM06 model, a highdynamic range (HDR) rendering process contains chromatic adaptation and is based on the CIECAM02 model. The D factor or degree of adaptation in chromatic adaptation of the iCAM06 model is the function of surround luminance or adapting luminance level, but does not consider visual white point sh...

Evaluating CATs as Predictors of Observer Adjustments in Softcopy Fine Art Reproduction

A project to evaluate current practices in fine art image reproduction is conducted in which pieces of artwork in various media are being imaged by participating museums. As part of this project, observers were asked to make adjustments in softcopy fine art reproductions. The goal is to see how people working in museums, libraries and archives make color adjustments to artwork presented to them...
