Four-Valued Diagnoses for Strati ed Knowledge-Bases
We present a four-valued approach for recovering consistent data from inconsistent set of assertions. For a common family of knowledge-bases we also provide an eecient algorithm for doing so au-tomaticly. This method is particularly useful for making model-based diagnoses.
متن کاملAutomatic Diagnoses for Properly Stratified Knowledge-Bases
We present a mechanism for recovering consistent data from inconsistent set of assertions. For a common family of knowledge-bases we also provide an efficient algorithm for doing so automaticly. This method is nonmonotonic and paraconsistent. It is particularly useful for making diagnoses on faulty devices. Subject areas: Knowledge-based systems, Non-standard logics for AI, Reasoning under unce...
متن کاملA Four-valued Approach for Handling Inconsistency in Prioritized Knowledge-bases
The use of priorities among formulae is an important tool to appropriately revise inconsistent knowledge-bases. We present a four-valued semantical approach for recovering consistent data from prioritized knowledge-bases. This approach is nonmonotonic and paraconsistent in nature.
متن کاملOperator-valued bases on Hilbert spaces
In this paper we develop a natural generalization of Schauder basis theory, we term operator-valued basis or simply ov-basis theory, using operator-algebraic methods. We prove several results for ov-basis concerning duality, orthogonality, biorthogonality and minimality. We prove that the operators of a dual ov-basis are continuous. We also dene the concepts of Bessel, Hilbert ov-basis and obta...
متن کاملSweet SIXTEEN : Automation via Embedding into Classical Higher-Order Logic
Introduction. Classical logics are based on the bivalence principle, that is, the set of truth-values V has cardinality |V | = 2, usually with V = {T,F} where T and F stand for truthhood and falsity, respectively. Many-valued logics generalize this requirement to more or less arbitrary sets of truth-values, rather referred to as truth-degrees in that context. Popular examples of many-valued log...
