A Distributed Environment for Developing Machine Aided Translation Using Peer-to-Peer

This paper describes an overview of applying peer-to-peer technique to memorybased machine translation system to assist translation in community. In each user’s local system, the local database will be set up. Users are able to keep source information, translated information by machine translation system and manually edited information in database. If the next coming source information is similar to the one that user translated, the accurate result will be retrieved. Since data is kept in each user’s local system, peer-to-peer technique will be applied. It will assist the system to retrieve the translation results by consulting not only their own database but also others in community. This framework will increase the chance to get the accurate results.
