چکیده

The digital autofluoroscope is a scintillation cam era with a 15.2 X 22.9-cm rectangular array of 294 sodium iodide crystals. Since the development of the digital autofluoro scope by Bender and Blau in 1960 (/). it has been used for static imaging and dynamic studies of vari ous organs of the body (2-5). The Baird-Atomic model 5600 digital autofluoroscope had been used for static brain imaging at the Thomas Jefferson Uni versity Hospital from March 1967 to October 1970. There has been no previous comparisons between the Baird-Atomic autofluoroscope and the rectilinear scanners in brain imaging. The first 1,000 studies performed on patients suspected of having brain pathology were reviewed. In order to assess the accu racy of autofluoroscope imaging, the studies were compared with either rectilinear scans or neuroradiologic examinations or both. Rectilinear scans and ncuroradiologic examinations were chosen for the comparisons because their accuracy has been shown to be 81.5-84% and 84-93.4%, respectively (6-8).

Diagnostic and therapeutic consequences of repeat brain imaging and follow-up vascular imaging in stroke patients.

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE Recently, the diagnostic and therapeutic importance of repeat radiologic imaging in stroke patients has been questioned. The aim of this study was to show the therapeutic and diagnostic consequences of both repeat brain imaging and follow-up vascular imaging in this group of patients. METHODS Neuroradiologic images and reports as well as clinical records of 317 patients...

Neuroradiologic findings in Marinesco-Sjögren syndrome.

PURPOSE Our purpose was to determine the neuroradiologic findings of Marinesco-Sjögren syndrome on plain skull radiographs, CT, and MR images. METHODS Eight patients with proved Marinesco-Sjögren syndrome (age range, 4 to 56 years) had a total of nine CT scans, seven MR imaging studies, and two plain radiographic examinations of the skull. The findings were reviewed retrospectively, with part...

Comparison of Two Quantitative Susceptibility Mapping Measurement Methods Used For Anatomical Localization of the Iron-Incorporated Deep Brain Nuclei

Introduction Quantitative susceptibility mapping (QSM) is a new contrast mechanism in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). The images produced by the QSM enable researchers and clinicians to easily localize specific structures of the brain, such as deep brain nuclei. These nuclei are targets in many clinical applications and therefore their easy localization is a must. In this study, we aimed to i...
