چکیده
Phenylalanine inhibited thiazole biosynthesis in a thiamine-regulatory mutant of Escherichia coli, and the inhibition was overcome by tyrosine.

Effect of glycine on thiazole biosynthesis in Escherichia coli.
Glycine was found to replace thiamine thiazole for the growth of the thiazoleless mutant of Escherichia coli; it also stimulated the production of thiamine thiazole by washed cell suspensions of the mutant.
متن کاملEffect of Concomitant Lycopene Biosynthesis on CoQ10 Accumulation in Transformed Escherichia coli Strains
CoQ10 and lycopene are isoprenoid compounds with nutraceutical and pharmaceutical benefits. In this study, the effect of concomitant lycopene biosynthesis on CoQ10 accumulation in transformed Escherichia coli DH5α was studied. A lycopene production pathway including geranylgeranyl diphosphate synthase (crtE), phytoene synthase (crtB), and phytoene desaturase (crtI) from Erwinia herbicola was co...
متن کاملIsolation of single-site Escherichia coli mutants deficient in thiamine and 4-thiouridine syntheses: identification of a nuvC mutant.
A method is described to rapidly select and classify many independent near-UV irradiation-resistant Escherichia coli mutants, which include tRNA modification and RNA synthesis control mutants. One class of these mutants was found to be simultaneously deficient in thiamine biosynthesis and in the ability to modify uridine in tRNA to 4-thiouridine, known to be the target for near-UV irradiation. ...
متن کاملNanotoxicity for E. Coli and Characterization of Silver Quantum Dots Produced by Biosynthesis with Eichhornia crassipes
Nanomaterials are widely used in health and biomedical applications, however, only a few studies investigate their toxic effects. The present report signifies a contribution to the study of the toxic effects of silver nanoparticles on E. coli cells, which is a model organism of anthropogenic pollution. The toxicity of nanoparticles depends on their chemical and surface properties, shape and ...
متن کاملThe iscS gene in Escherichia coli is required for the biosynthesis of 4-thiouridine, thiamin, and NAD.
IscS, a cysteine desulfurase implicated in the repair of Fe-S clusters, was recently shown to act as a sulfurtransferase in the biosynthesis of 4-thiouridine (s(4)U) in tRNA (Kambampati, R., and Lauhon, C. T. (1999) Biochemistry 38, 16561-16568). In frame deletion of the iscS gene in Escherichia coli results in a mutant strain that lacks s(4)U in its tRNA. Assays of cell-free extracts isolated ...
