One of the most important distinction of the scheme is that it achieves e ective utilization of disk bandwidth for playing back VOD programs stored in the MPEG-2 format. Furthermore, the scheme is based on a general two-level disk array architecture that exploits both parallelism and concurrency o ered by ne-grain and coarse-grain disk array structures.
