چکیده

INTRODUCTION In the last years, continuously moving table (CMT) acquisition techniques have been developed to efficiently acquire extended Fields of View (FoV). Clinical relevance of these techniques, especially for cancer patients, has been reported [1-3] and CMT acquisitions are used in our daily clinical routine for metastases screening at 1.5T. However, 3T scanners are getting more and more popular due to the intrinsic higher signal-to-noise ratio. Regarding moving table acquisitions, CMT angiography at 3T is a current field of research [4,5]. In this abstract we want to demonstrate the feasibility of 3T CMT conventional imaging. Clinical relevant protocols like T1-weighted fat saturated gradient echo imaging and T2-weighted short tau inversion recovery turbo spin echo imaging have been implemented at a 3T system and compared to 1.5T.

3T versus 1.5T MR angiography in peripheral arterial occlusive disease: an equivalence trial in comparison with digital subtraction angiography

Background Contrast-enhanced MR angiography (CE-MRA) has evolved into a reliable imaging technique for peripheral arterial occlusive disease (PAOD). Recent advances in MRI technology offer large homogeneous magnetic fields with comparable Field-of-Views at 3T and 1.5T, allowing visualization of the complete runoff vascular tree by single-injection 3-station (pelvic/thigh/calf) moving-table CE-M...

High-resolution 3D-constructive interference in steady-state MR imaging and 3D time-of-flight MR angiography in neurovascular compression: a comparison between 3T and 1.5T.

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE High-resolution MR imaging is useful for diagnosis and preoperative planning in patients with NVC. Because high-field MR imaging promises higher SNR and resolution, the aim of this study was to determine the value of high-resolution 3D-CISS and 3D-TOF MRA at 3T compared with 1.5T in patients with NVC. MATERIALS AND METHODS Forty-seven patients with NVC, trigeminal neura...

Comparing 3T and 1.5T MRI for mapping hippocampal atrophy in the Alzheimer's Disease Neuroimaging Initiative.

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE Prior MR imaging studies, primarily at 1.5T, established hippocampal atrophy as a biomarker for Alzheimer disease. 3T MR imaging offers a higher contrast and signal-to-noise ratio, yet distortions and intensity uniformity are harder to control. We applied our automated hippocampal segmentation technique to 1.5T and 3T MR imaging data, to determine whether hippocampal atro...

Normal findings on brain fluid-attenuated inversion recovery MR images at 3T.

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE Fluid attenuated inversion recovery (FLAIR) MR imaging of the brain has become a routine tool for assessing lesions in patients with suspected neurologic disorders. There is growing interest in 3T brain FLAIR MR imaging but little normative data are available. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the frequency and topography of cerebral hyperintensities seen with FLA...

MR Protocols Breast Imaging

Compared with 1.5T, 3T imaging has the inherent advantage of providing a higher signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and higher resolution or faster scans, although there are trade-offs among these as well as certain limitations. 3T MR has a high specific absorption rate (four times that of 1.5T), decreased B1 homogeneity, longer T1 relaxation time, and increased susceptibility artifact. Despite these p...
