چکیده
Methods Patients with DCM (n = 15, age 58 ± 2 years), stable on medical therapy, were studied before and after 8 weeks of training for 20 minutes, 5 times per week on a home exercise bike. Cardiac volumes and function were measured using MR at 3T during rest and leg exercise. High energy phosphate metabolism was measured as the ratio of phosphocreatine to ATP (PCr/ATP) by Phosphorus magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS) at 3T. Quality of life scores were calculated using the Minnesota Heart Failure Questionnaire and 6 minute walk tests were used to determine exercise capacity. All assessments were repeated after the 8 week training period.

Introduction: Cardiac diseases are of of the most common diseases in the world. Patients with these diseases should be treated for a long time and cardiac rehabilitation must be performed for them in order to return to an active life. There is an inverse relationship between the amount of physical activity and mortality rate in patients with cardiac diseases. Exercise-based rehabilitation is an...

Abstract Background: Cardiac rehabilitation programs (CRP) are recommended for all patients after surgery for myocardial infarction. The aim of this study was to examine the effects of an 8-week cardiac rehabilitation on quality of life and exercise capacity in patients after coronary bypass graft (CABG). Materials and Methods: Patients were randomized into a training group (n = 30, mean ag...

Chronic heart failure (CHF) is a complex syndrome characterized by progressive decline in left ventricular function, low exercise tolerance and raised mortality and morbidity. Left ventricular diastolic dysfunction plays a major role in CHF and progression of most cardiac diseases. The current recommended goals can theoretically be accomplished via exercise and pharmacological therapy so the ai...

ABSTRACT Background and Objectives: Cardiac rehabilitation improves functional capacity of post-coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) patients. Therefore, the aim of this study was to evaluate effects of eight weeks of cardiac rehabilitation on serum levels of sirutin1 (SIRT1) and functional capacity of post-CABG patients. Methods: Forty-five non-active men (mean ag...
