sGC activators and stimulators attenuate ischemia/reperfusion injury of the lung

چکیده
Background Protective effects of NO, a physiological activator of soluble guanylyl cyclase (sGC), have been reported in ischemia/reperfusion syndrome (I/R) of the lung. However, its protective effects can be overwhelmed by its deleterious effects due to oxidative products formation. Therefore, we studied the effects of direct sGC stimulator (BAY 41-2272) and sGC activator (BAY 58-2667) on I/R injury of the lung in a isolated intact organ model.

Effect of renal ischemia-reperfusion on lung injury and inflammatory responses in male rat
Objective(s):Acute kidney injury (AKI), a syndrome characterized by decreased glomerular filtration, occurs in every 1 of 5 hospitalized patients. Renal ischemia-reperfusion, one of the main causes of AKI, is of particular importance in the setting of kidney transplantation. Materials and Methods: Sixty male rats were divided into four groups including control, nephrectomy, sham surgery and re...
متن کاملIs adalimumab protective in ischemia-reperfusion injury in lung?
Objective(s): Increasing cytokines and reactive oxygen species (ROS) during ischemia reperfusion (I-R) leads to the lung damage. Adalimumab (Ada) is a potent tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α) inhibitor agent. We aimed to evaluate whether Ada would prevent the lung tissue from damage development over the I-R process. Materials and Methods:Twenty seven Wistar albino male rats were divided into...
متن کاملBerberine Ameliorates Renal Functional Disorders and Pulmonary Tissue Injury Following Renal Ischemia/Reperfusion in Rats
Introduction: This study investigated the effect of berberine on renal dysfunction and histological damages of the lung induced by renal ischemia/ reperfusion at an early stage. Methods: There were four experimental groups of adult male rats (n=7). Seven days before induction of ischemia, the Ber+I/R group received oral (by gavage) berberine (15 mg/kg/day) while the I/R group received distil...
متن کاملEvaluating the effect of short ischemic periods on subsequent rat renal ischemic injury
Introduction: Using brief episodes of ischemia and reperfusion (IR) prior to a more sustained IR insult – ischemic preconditioning (IPC) – can reduce IR injury of the heart, brain and many other tissues. The purpose of present study was to investigate the effect of 2min ischemic periods on subsequent rat renal IR injury. Methods: Male rat's renal IR injury was investigated in a right nephrectom...
متن کاملGenetic overexpression of eNOS attenuates hepatic ischemia-reperfusion injury.
Previous studies have shown that endothelial nitric oxide (NO) synthase (eNOS)-derived NO is an important signaling molecule in ischemia-reperfusion (I-R) injury. Deficiency of eNOS-derived NO has been shown to exacerbate injury in hepatic and myocardial models of I-R. We hypothesized that transgenic overexpression of eNOS (eNOS-TG) would reduce hepatic I-R injury. We subjected two strains of e...
