چکیده

(3, 10 and 30 mg/kg, i.p.) produced a significant, dose dependent decrease in the MAP and heart rate of LRA ligated rats. Significant reduction in MAP and heart rate was observed in hypertensive rats treated with propranolol (30 mg/kg), atenolol (10 mg/kg), DPJ 890 (3 and 10 mg/kg) and DPJ 955 (10 and 30 mg/kg). The fall in the the MAP produced by DPJ 890 (10 mg/kg) was greater compared to atenolol and propranolol while the effect of DPJ 955 was less than that of atenolol but greater than that of propranolol (Table 1). The observed change in the MAP and heart rate in LRA ligated rats with DPJ 890 may be due to its stronger receptor (β 1 ) binding property compared to atenolol.

Cholesterol lowering effect of SG-GN3, the extract of salted and fermented small shrimps, Acetes japonicus, in Triton WR-1339 or high cholesterol-diet induced hypercholesterolemic rats.

The cholesterol lowering effect of SG-GN3, the extract of salted and fermented small shrimps, Acetes japonicus, was investigated in hypercholesterolemic animal models. Hypercholesterolemia was induced with Triton WR-1339 (nonionic detergent) or high cholesterol (HC)-diet. SG-GN3 significantly decreased total cholesterol (TC) in Triton WR-1339 model at 30 post-treatment hour (549.80 +/- 152.46 m...

Hypolipidemic effect of flavonoids from mulberry leaves in triton WR-1339 induced hyperlipidemic mice.

The aim of this study was to investigate the hypolipidemic effect of the total flavonoids from mulberry leaves (MTF) in hyperlipidemic mice. The total flavonoids have been isolated from mulberry (Morus alba L.) leaves and purified by macroporous resins. After that, the content of MTF is 581.7 mg g-1 in dried product. The hypolipidemic effect of MTF has been evaluated in triton WR-1339 (400 mg k...

Hypolipidemic action of chrysin on Triton WR-1339-induced hyperlipidemia in female C57BL/6 mice

Chrysin (5,7-dihydroxyflavone) is a flavonoid, natural component of traditional medicinal herbs, present in honey, propolis and many plant extracts. The objective of this study was to investigate the hypolipidemic properties of chrysin on Triton WR-1339-induced hyperlipidemia in female C57BL/6 mice. Triton WR-1339 was administered intraperitoneally (400 mg/kg) to overnight-fasted mice to develo...

The Mechanism Responsible for the Hypercholesteremia Induced by Triton Wr-1339

Injection of triton WR-1339 into rats leads to a rapid increase in the cholesterol, cholate, and various lipid fractions of their blood. The increase in cholesterol is confined to the blood itself. The cholesteremic effect of triton was not dependent upon a prior accumulation of cholate in plasma. The liver was found to be the source of the excess cholesterol but the rate of cholesterol synthes...

In vitro effect of Triton WR-1339 on canine plasma high density lipoproteins.

We studied the effect in vitro of various concentrations of Triton WR-1339 on normolipidemic canine plasma and on the high density lipoproteins (HDL) isolated from this plasma by ultracentrifugation. As a preamble to this study, we established that Triton WR-1339 has a unimer molecular weight of 4,500, a micellar molecular weight of 180,000, and a critical micellar concentration (CMC) of 0.018 ...

Hypocholesterolemic Effect and In Vitro Pancreatic Lipase Inhibitory Activity of an Opuntia ficus-indica Extract

Cholesterol control is fundamental for prevention of cardiovascular disorders. In this work, the hypocholesterolemic activity of an aqueous Opuntia ficus-indica extract (AOE) was tested in triton-induced mice. The inhibitory activity on pancreatic lipase enzyme was evaluated in vitro by the same extract. Furthermore, polyphenol content of the extract was evaluated. Hypercholesterolemia was indu...
