Towards Ubiquitous EWS-based Network Management

چکیده
Most Internet networking devices are now equipped with a Web server for providing Web-based element management so that an administrator may take advantage of this enhanced and powerful management interface. On the other hand, for network management, an administrator normally buys and deploys SNMP-based network management platform to be customized to his network. Each management scheme has mutually exclusive advantages; consequently, two schemes coexist in the real world. This results in both a high development cost and a dual management interface for administrator. We propose an embedded Web server (EWS)-based network management architecture as an alternative to an SNMP based network management and to leverage on already existing embedded web server. We extend EWS-based element management architecture to the network management architecture. Our proposed architecture uses HTTP as a communication protocol with management information and operation encoding. Further we designed a management system on the basis of our proposed architecture that supports basic management functions.

As the Internet evolves, many network devices continue to emerge. Most of these network devices are basically equipped with an SNMP agent and an Embedded Web Server (EWS) as a management module. While both have drawbacks in network management, the drawback of SNMP concerns configurability and, with EWS, the absence of a management information model. To resolve these drawbacks, XML-based network...
متن کاملSystems biology of Ewing sarcoma: a network model of EWS-FLI1 effect on proliferation and apoptosis
Ewing sarcoma is the second most frequent pediatric bone tumor. In most of the patients, a chromosomal translocation leads to the expression of the EWS-FLI1 chimeric transcription factor that is the major oncogene in this pathology. Relative genetic simplicity of Ewing sarcoma makes it particularly attractive for studying cancer in a systemic manner. Silencing EWS-FLI1 induces cell cycle altera...
متن کاملAn efficient and lightweight embedded Web server for Web-based network element management
An Embedded Web Server (EWS) is a Web server which runs on an embedded system with limited computing resources to serve embedded Web documents to a Web browser. By embedding a Web server into a network device, it is possible to provide a Web-based management user interface, which are user-friendly, inexpensive, cross-platform, and network-ready. This article explores the topic of an efficient a...

The ever increasing number of vehicles in most metropolitan cities around the world and the limitation in altering the transportation infrastructure, led to serious traffic congestion and an increase in the travelling time. In this work we exploit the emergence of novel technologies such as the internet, to design an intelligent Traffic Management System (TMS) that can remotely monitor and cont...
