Estrogen-induced surface coat and enzyme changes in the implanting mouse blastocyst.

چکیده
Blastocysts from estrogen-stimulated mice tend to be very sticky, a characteristic which can be correlated with estrogen-induced enzyme activation and changes in the surface coat of the trophoblast cells. The blastocyst surface coat was investigated using colloidal ironPrussian blue stain. In addition, the activity of tyrosine aminotransferase was assayed histochemically in preimplantation blastocysts. The surface and enzyme changes were correlated with the presence of estrogen by investigations in normal blastocysts from intact mice before and after the endogenous estrogen surge and in delayed-implantation blastocysts from ovariectomized mice preceding and following estrogen treatment. Colloidal iron stains the surface coat of the blastocyst after, but not before, the endogenous estrogen surge and the exogenous estrogen treatment. Tyrosine aminotransferase activity also is increased considerably after estrogen induction.

Immunolocalization of estrogen receptor protein in the mouse blastocyst during normal and delayed implantation.
We previously showed that estrogen receptor (ER) mRNA is present in preimplantation mouse embryos. The apparent synthesis of ER mRNA by the blastocyst at the time of implantation when estrogen is required was of special interest. A demonstration of the presence of ER protein would support the idea that estrogen can act directly on the embryo. The mouse embryo at the blastocyst stage is differen...
متن کاملChanges in Implantation and Survival Rates and Embryo Quality After Progesteron
Purpose: Determining the effect of progesterone on the embryo quality (total cell number and diameter of blastocyst), survival and implantation rates of mouse blastocyst with or without ovarian stimulation. Materials and Methods: Female 6-10 weeks old NMRI mice were divided into four groups as follows: (a) Non-stimulated pregnant mice as control (b) Non-stimulated pregnant mice with daily inje...
متن کاملAnnexin A2 Acts as an Adhesion Molecule on the Endometrial Epithelium during Implantation in Mice
To determine the function of Annexin A2 (Axna2) in mouse embryo implantation in vivo, experimental manipulation of Axna2 activities was performed in mouse endometrial tissue in vivo and in vitro. Histological examination of endometrial tissues was performed throughout the reproduction cycle and after steroid treatment. Embryo implantation was determined after blockage of the Axna2 activities by...
متن کاملEvaluating the Development and the Expression of Bax, Bcl-2, and ErbB4 Genes following Vitrification of Eight Cell and Blastocyst Embryos
Background & Objective: Vitrification is an effective mean for preserving embryos. During this process, expression of implanting and apoptotic genes changes and can affect the quality of embryos. In this study, the expressions of Bax and Bcl-2 as apoptotic genes and ErbB4 as implanting gene were investigated in vitrified and warmed embryos. Materials & Methods: In this study, six-eight w...
متن کاملDifferential expression and regulation of Cryab in mouse uterus during preimplantation period.
The aim of this study was to examine the expression and regulation of the crystallin, alpha B (Cryab) gene in mouse uterus during the peri-implantation period by in situ hybridization and real-time PCR. There was no detectable Cryab mRNA signal on days 1-4 of pregnancy. On day 5 of pregnancy when embryo implanted, a high level of Cryab mRNA signal was found in the subluminal stroma surrounding ...
