Mass Customization may be deployed in many different fashions depends on the nature of product characteristics, market segments, and their respective business environments. General trend shifts from personalize crafted, mass produced, to mass customized products throughout recent decades have evolved to unequal influences on today’s customizable product configurations. Life cycle durations and manufacturing system structures are different among personalized cloths, custom ordered computers, and custom configured aircrafts. This paper discusses few related business strategies in customization levels of long lifecycle products. This paper presents a modeling method to illustrate pro and cons of customization deployment among component producers and the overall product integrator. Customization levels, decision timing of customized product configurations, strategies that influence product supply chain structures, and interactions among partners are modeled and discussed in this paper.
