Modeling Current-Programmed Buck and Boost Regulators

ثبت نشده
چکیده

A general small-signal model for current-programmed switching power stages is used for design-oriented analysis of a 150-W buck regulator and of a 280-W boost regulator. The model, into which the current-programming minor feedback loop is absorbed, exposes the desired tendency towards “constant” output current. The regulator voltage loop remains #he only explicit feedback loop, allowing the regulator closed-loop properties to be easily obtained from those of the open-loop current-programmed power stage. The design-oriented analytic results allow easy inference of the effects of element changes on the regulator performance functions. Results are obtained for the regulator line-to-output transfer function (audio susceptibility) and output impedance.

Bifurcations in current-programmed DC/DC buck switching regulators - conjecturing a universal bifurcation path

This paper studies the bifurcation paths exhibited by a DC=DC buck switching regulator under current-programmed control. Previous studies with the boost converter and the Cuk converter have shown that two distinct types of bifurcation paths, namely one that goes through a region of quasi-periodic orbits and via period-doubling, are possible. We conjecture that these two di erent types of bifurc...

Resonant Parametric Perturbation Method to Control Chaos in Current Mode Controlled DC-DC Buck-Boost Converter

Abstract – Resonant parametric perturbation (RPP) method is an effective non-feedback method for controlling chaos. In this paper, the above method is applied for the current programmed buck-boost dc-dc converter which exhibits chaotic for wide parameter variations. The different possible operating regimes leading to chaotic operation of the current mode controlled buck-boost converter is discu...

The State Space Average Model of Buck-Boost Switching Regulator Including all of The System Uncertainties

In this paper a complete state-space average model for the buck-boost switching regulators is presented. The presented model includes the most of the regulator’s parameters and uncertainties. In modeling, the load current is assumed to be unknown, and it is assumed that the inductor, capacitor, diode and regulator active switch are non ideal and they have a resistance in conduction condition. S...

Physical Origins of Input Filter Oscillations in Current Programmed Converters

Addition of an input filter to a current-programmed converter can cause the controller to oscillate. Two instability mechanisms can typically occur: 1) the current programmed controller effective current feedback loop may become unstable, or 2) the controller effective input voltage feed forward loop, which becomes a positive feedback loop when an input filter is added, may oscillate. Design cr...

A New Topology of Embedded Z-H Buck-Boost Converter

In this paper, a new embedded Z-H (EZ-H) buck-boost converter is proposed. In this topology, two identical dc voltage sources are embedded in a LC network in a series connection with the inductors. The proposed converter eliminates the shoot-through (ST) switching state and there is no need for a front-end diode. Other advantages of the proposed topology are having capability of buck and boost ...
