چکیده

We report the selfand external-dressed AutlerTownes (A-T) splittings of the images of the generated four-wave mixing signal (FWM) and electromagnetically induced transparency (EIT) of probe images in cascade three-level atomic system. Such spatial properties of probe and FWM signals are induced by the enhanced cross-Kerr nonlinearity. We demonstrate the controlled electromagnetically induced spatial dispersion (EISD), splitting and focusing of probe and FWM signals images by adjusting selfand external-dressing fields. Studies on such controllable A-T spatial splitting and spatial EIT effect can be very useful in applications of spatial signal processing and optical communication.

What is and what is not electromagnetically induced transparency in whispering-gallery microcavities.

There has been an increasing interest in all-optical analogues of electromagnetically induced transparency and Autler-Townes splitting. Despite the differences in their underlying physics, both electromagnetically induced transparency and Autler-Townes splitting are quantified by a transparency window in the absorption or transmission spectrum, which often leads to a confusion about its origin....

Experimental distinction of Autler-Townes splitting from electromagnetically induced transparency using coupled mechanical oscillators system.

Here we experimentally demonstrated the electromagnetically induced transparency (EIT) and Autler-Townes splitting (ATS) effects in mechanical coupled pendulums. The analogue of EIT and ATS has been studied in mechanical systems and the intrinsic physics between these two phenomena are also been discussed. Exploiting the Akaike Information Criterion, we discern the ATS effect from EIT effect in...

Lifetime Autler-Townes Splitting of Dressed Multi-Order Fluorescence in Pr3+:YSO

For first time, we study primary and secondary Autler-Townes (AT) splitting of multi-order fluorescence (FL) in time domain. The AT-splitting of multi-order FL signals are controlled by changing power, detuning, and polarization of single and double dressing in a heteronuclear-like molecule system of Pr+3:YSO. The primary and secondary AT-splitting are caused by double cascaded dressing in time...

Dressed Gain from the Parametrically Amplified Four-Wave Mixing Process in an Atomic Vapor

With a forward cone emitting from the strong pump laser in a thermal rubidium atomic vapor, we investigate the non-degenerate parametrically amplified four-wave mixing (PA-FWM) process with dressing effects in a three-level "double-Λ" configuration both theoretically and experimentally. By seeding a weak probe field into the Stokes or anti-Stokes channel of the FWM, the gain processes are gener...

Objectively discerning Autler-Townes splitting from electromagnetically induced transparency.

Autler-Townes splitting (ATS) and electromagnetically induced transparency (EIT) both yield transparency in an absorption profile, but only EIT yields strong transparency for a weak pump field due to Fano interference. Empirically discriminating EIT from ATS is important but so far has been subjective. We introduce an objective method, based on Akaike's information criterion, to test ATS vs EIT...
