Mood Induction and Unintentional Learning in Healthy Subjects

چکیده
Whether induced-depressed individuals demonstrate a mood congruence effect in unintentional learning is unknown. We manipulated 51 healthy participants into either a happy (n = 25) or a sad mood (n = 26) state and tested their mood-congruent information processing with unintentional learning of negatively charged pictorial stimuli. Participants in the happy mood induction group recognised significantly more negative items than induced-depressed participants. I conc lude that there was no ev idence of mood-congruence in unintentional learning in induced-depressives.

Effects of Mood Induction and Bias-Inducing Contextual Cues on Decision Making in Gamblers and Healthy Individuals
This study investigated the effect of mood and bias-eliciting contextual cues on decision making in problem gamblers and healthy individuals. The experimental design involved two between-subjects variables: mood induction (none induction, positive induction, negative induction) and gambling attitude (problem gamblers, healthy individuals), and one withinsubjects variable: bias-inducing contextu...
متن کاملReduced heat pain thresholds after sad-mood induction are associated with changes in thalamic activity.
Negative affective states influence pain processing in healthy subjects in terms of augmented pain experience. Furthermore, our previous studies revealed that patients with major depressive disorder showed increased heat pain thresholds on the skin. Potential neurofunctional correlates of this finding were located within the fronto-thalamic network. The aim of the present study was to investiga...

Objective: Early maladaptive schemas (EMSs) or fundamental beliefs that underpin stable and trait-like psychological disorders are chronic and relapsing. In, active schemas in dysthymic patients with major depression have been compared with healthy individuals. The purpose of this study was to compare early maladaptive schemas (Young, 2003, 1990) in dysthymic patients with major depression and h...
متن کاملUsing Signal Detection Theory to Investigate the Impact of Mood Induction on Emotional Information Processing in High BAS/BIS Individuals
Objective: The main objective of this study was to investigate the explicit memory bias in the people with high BAS/BIS sensitivity in the different manipulated mood states. Methods: By using purposive sampling method, seventy-four participants (undergraduate students) were selected based on z-scores of 480 using the Carver and White’s BAS/BIS scale. They were distributed as: 24 wi...

Objective: The purpose of this study was studying of explicit motor learning in Relapse-Remission (RR) MS patients and compare with healthy subject. Materials & Methods: A serial reaction time task by using software was applied for studying explicit motor learning in 15 RRMS patients and 15 matched healthy subjects. In this task four squares with different colors appeared on the computer scr...
