چکیده

This paper describes an animation for multi-scale representation of spatial data. More specifically, morphing technique is employed to animate the operations for the geometric transformations in digital map generalization. Operations required for the geometric transformations are first introduced; morphing technique is then described; the animation of these operations with morphing technique is presented at last.

Morphing Polygonal Lines: A Step Towards Continuous Generalization

Visualization of geographic information in the form of maps has been established for centuries. Depending on the scale of the map the level of detail of displayed objects must be adapted in a generalization process. Be it done manually or (semi-)automatically, generalization methods usually produce a map at a single target scale. This is a well-studied field, surveyed, for example, by Weibel an...

A framework for modeling, animating, and morphing textured implicit models

This paper presents a framework for modeling, animating and morphing textured implicit models. Our hierarchical skeletal implicit surface model incorporates key-frame animation and procedural solid texturing in a unified and coherent way. Our system enables the designer to create complex special effects by synchronizing shape, animation and texture transformations.

Pareto Optimization of Two-element Wing Models with Morphing Flap Using Computational Fluid Dynamics, Grouped Method of Data handling Artificial Neural Networks and Genetic Algorithms

A multi-objective optimization (MOO) of two-element wing models with morphing flap by using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) techniques, artificial neural networks (ANN), and non-dominated sorting genetic algorithms (NSGA II), is performed in this paper. At first, the domain is solved numerically in various two-element wing models with morphing flap using CFD techniques and lift (L) and drag ...

How Generalization Interacts with the Topological and Metric Structure of Maps

In this paper we discuss how to define in a mathematical framework the set of operations that cartographers call generalization. First we make a clear distinction between topological and metric aspects of maps, and describe suitable mathematical tools for treating both cathegories. Then we analyse the basic operations of generalization, pointing out whether each one affects the metric or topolo...

Animating Human Face under Arbitrary Illumination

In this paper, we present a method to animate human face under arbitrary lighting condition. We first acquire the reflectance models of a human face in various expressions by employing a robot to precisely control light position. By developing a relighting tool, named LUXMASTER, we achieve the great freedom to change the illumination condition and get a variety of photorealistic novel rendering...
