A Constrained Nevanlinna-pick Interpolation Problem

چکیده
We obtain necessary and sufficient conditions for NevanlinnaPick interpolation on the unit disk with the additional restriction that all analytic interpolating functions satisfy f ′(0) = 0. Alternatively, these results can be interpreted as interpolation results for H∞(V ), where V is the intersection of the bidisk with an algebraic variety. We use an analysis of C*-envelopes to show that these same conditions do not suffice for matrix interpolation.

A Constrained Nevanlinna-pick Interpolation Problem for Matrix-valued Functions
Recent results of Davidson-Paulsen-Raghupathi-Singh give necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of a solution to the NevanlinnaPick interpolation problem on the unit disk with the additional restriction that the interpolant should have the value of its derivative at the origin equal to zero. This concrete mild generalization of the classical problem is prototypical of a number of...
متن کاملNevanlinna–pick Interpolation: Pick Matrices Have Bounded Number of Negative Eigenvalues
The Nevanlinna–Pick interpolation problem is studied in the class of functions defined on the unit disk without a discrete set, with the property that all their Pick matrices have not more than a prescribed number of negative eigenvalues. It is shown, in particular, that the degenerate problem always has a unique solution, not necessarily meromorphic. A related extension problem to a maximal fu...
متن کاملBoundary Nevanlinna-Pick interpolation via reduction and augmentation
We give an elementary proof of Sarason’s solvability criterion for the Nevanlinna-Pick problem with boundary interpolation nodes and boundary target values. We also give a concrete parametrization of all solutions of such a problem. The proofs are based on a reduction method due to Nevanlinna and the fact that reduction of functions corresponds to Schur complementation of the corresponding Pick...
متن کاملEla Spectral versus Classical Nevanlinna-pick Interpolation in Dimension Two∗
A genericity condition is removed from a result of Agler and Young which reduces the spectral Nevanlinna-Pick problem in two dimensions to a family of classical Nevanlinna-Pick problems. Unlike the original approach, the argument presented here does not involve state-space methods.
