Bioefficacy Determination of Methionine Hydroxy Analog-Free Acid Relative to DL-Methionine in Laying Hen Diets with Limited Methionine Using Different Regression Models

چکیده
A study was conducted to compare bioefficacy of liquid DL-methionine hydroxy analogue-free acid (MHA-FA) and DL-methionine (DL-Met) in laying hens. Biological efficacy was determined for egg production, egg mass, and egg weight using five regression models. Four levels of DL-Met (0.012, 0.024, 0.036, and 0.048%) and MHA-FA (0.014, 0.027, 0.041, and 0.054%) were added on an equimolar basis to a basal diet containing 14.97% protein and 0.27% methionine. Twenty week old Hy-Line W-36 hens were used in this trial with 8 replicates per treatment. The bioefficacy of MHA-FA related to DL-Met was 0.77 on a weight basis (or 0.87 on a molar basis) based on egg mass with the best goodness of model fit (average R equal to 2 83.33%). The bioefficacy was 0.71 on a weight basis (or 0.80 on a molar basis) based on egg production with the goodness of model fit at average R equal to 76.98%. The bioefficacy was 1.03 on a weight basis 2 (or 1.17 on a molar basis) based on egg weight with the goodness of model fit at average R equal to 2

Two studies were conducted to compare bioefficacy of liquid DL-methionine hydroxy analogue-free acid (MHA-FA) and DL-methionine (DL-Met). Biological efficacy was determined for egg production, feed consumption, egg mass, and egg weight using linear and nonlinear regression models. In Experiment 1, five levels of DL-Met (0.023, 0.045, 0.068, 0.090 and 0.113%) and MHA-FA (0.026, 0.051, 0.077, 0.1...

BACKGROUND:Herbal methionine can be compared relative toDl-methionine with evaluation of bioavailability of this source ofmethionine. OBJECTIVES: An experiment was carried out todetermine the relative bioefficacy of herbal methionine (H-Met)®relative to DL-methionine (DL-Met) on performance criteria andimmunocompetence of Met sources in male broilers. Atotal of 160male broilers were fed a Met-d...

Two broiler experiments were conducted to assess the relative bioefficacy of liquid DL-Met hydroxy analog-free acid (MHA-FA) and DL-Met (DLM). Exponential regression analysis was used to determine biological efficacy based on body weight, feed conversion, and carcass responses to dietary Met source. In Trial 1, four graded inclusion levels of DLM and liquid MHA-FA (0.06, 0.12, 0.18, and 0.24%) ...

BACKGROUND: The degree to which the amount of aningested nutrient is absorbed and available to the body is calledbioavailability. OBJECTIVES: Relative effectiveness of herbalmethionine (H-Met®) compared to DL-methionine (DL-Met)was investigated in this experiment. METHODS: Exponentialregression analysis was used to determine bioefficacy of H-Met®based on body weight gain, feed intake and feed c...
متن کاملComparative in vitro and in vivo absorption of 2-hydroxy-4(methylthio) butanoic acid and methionine in the broiler chicken.
Poultry diets are typically supplemented with DL-2-hydroxy-4(methylthio) butanoic acid (HMTBA, or the hydroxy analog of methionine) or DL-methionine (DLM). Although HMTBA and DLM provide methionine activity, they are structurally distinct molecules with different physiological characteristics until they are converted to L-methionine. The relative rates of intestinal HMTBA vs. DLM absorption hav...
