چکیده

Methods 113 caucasian patients carrying MEFV mutations (46 with mutations in two alleles, 67 heterozygous) and 205 genetically negative patients for MEFV, TNFSF1A and MEFV (70% with a PFAPA phenotype) were analyzed. The following groups were considerd: patients with: i) 2 high penetrance mutations (M694V, M694I, M680I), ii) 1 high, 1 low penetrance mutation, iii) 2 low penetrance mutations, iv) 1 high penetrance mutation, v) one low penetrance mutation, vi) genetically negative.

Genotype Pattern of Pediatric Familial Mediterranean Fever in Jordan: A Single Center Experience

Background Familial Mediterranean fever (FMF) is an autosomal recessive autoinflammatory disorder caused by mutations in the MEFV gene. The disease is especially common among Mediterranean ancestry, mostly Armenian, Turkish, Jewish and Arab populations. We aimed to describe genotype pattern of FMF in the Jordanian children and to compare it with other populations. Materials and Methods A retros...

Mutational spectrum in the MEFV and TNFRSF1A genes in patients suffering from AA amyloidosis and recurrent inflammatory attacks.

BACKGROUND Among hereditary fevers characterized by recurrent attacks of fever and organ localized inflammation, familial Mediterranean fever (FMF), and tumour necrosis factor receptor superfamily 1A (TNFRSF1A) receptor associated periodic syndrome (TRAPS) are diseases with identified genes that can be associated with renal amyloidosis of the AA type. In this study we have characterized FMF and...

MEFV Gene Profile in Northwest of Iran, Twelve Common MEFV Gene Mutations Analysis in 216 Patients with Familial Mediterranean Fever

Familial Mediterranean Fever (FMF) is a hereditary autoinflammatory disease with autosomal recessive inheritance pattern often seen around the Mediterranean Sea. It is characterized by recurrent episodes of fever and polyserositis and rash. Recently, MEFV gene analysis determines the definitive diagnosis of FMF. In this study, we analyzed 12 MEFV gene mutations in more than 200 FMF patients, pr...

MEFV and NLRP3 gene variants in children with pfapa syndrome in slovenia

Introduction PFAPA syndrome is the most common autoinflammatory fever disorder in childhood, characterized by recurrent fever, aphthous stomatitis, pharyngitis and adenitis. Mutations in the MEFV and NLRP3 genes are known to cause syndromes with PFAPA overlapping symptoms (Familial Mediterranean Fever and Cryopyrin-Associated Periodic Syndrome), which are rarely reported in patients from Slovenia.

The MEFV gene pathogenic variants and phenotype-genotype correlation in children with familial Mediterranean fever in the Çanakkale population

The aim of the current study was to determine the frequency of the Mediterranean fever (MEFV) gene pathogenic variants in 60 children diagnosed with familial Mediterranean fever (FMF) and to compare the phenotype-genotype correlation. Genomic DNA was isolated by the spin-column method from peripheral blood samples (collected in vacutainers containing EDTA) and buccal smears. The MEFV gene profi...
