Vector spaces and binary quantifiers

چکیده
1 Introduction Caicedo [1] and others [3] have observed that monadic quantifiers cannot count the number of classes of an equivalence relation. This implies the existence of a binary quantifier which is not definable by monadic quantifiers. The purpose of this paper is to show that binary quantifiers cannot count the dimension of a vector space. Thus we have an example of a ternary quantifier which is not definable by binary quantifiers. The general form of a binary quantifier is

N-Dimensional Binary Vector Spaces
The binary set {0, 1} together with modulo-2 addition and multiplication is called a binary field, which is denoted by F2. The binary field F2 is defined in [1]. A vector space over F2 is called a binary vector space. The set of all binary vectors of length n forms an n-dimensional vector space Vn over F2. Binary fields and n-dimensional binary vector spaces play an important role in practical ...
متن کاملBuilding a shared world: mapping distributional to model-theoretic semantic spaces
In this paper, we introduce an approach to automatically map a standard distributional semantic space onto a set-theoretic model. We predict that there is a functional relationship between distributional information and vectorial concept representations in which dimensions are predicates and weights are generalised quantifiers. In order to test our prediction, we learn a model of such relations...
متن کاملOn $beta-$topological vector spaces
We introduce and study a new class of spaces, namely $beta-$topological vector spaces via $beta-$open sets. The relationships among these spaces with some existing spaces are investigated. In addition, some important and useful characterizations of $beta-$topological vector spaces are provided.
متن کاملs-Topological vector spaces
In this paper, we have dened and studied a generalized form of topological vector spaces called s-topological vector spaces. s-topological vector spaces are dened by using semi-open sets and semi-continuity in the sense of Levine. Along with other results, it is proved that every s-topological vector space is generalized homogeneous space. Every open subspace of an s-topological vector space is...
متن کاملFan-KKM Theorem in Minimal Vector Spaces and its Applications
In this paper, after reviewing some results in minimal space, some new results in this setting are given. We prove a generalized form of the Fan-KKM typetheorem in minimal vector spaces. As some applications, the open type of matching theorem and generalized form of the classical KKM theorem in minimal vector spaces are given.
