pureImage is a framework for fast image processing algorithm development. It is not thought as a replacement for well-established image processing frameworks, but as a superstructure for existing libraries, with the goal to (re-)use exisiting image processing functionality in an uniform way. Therefore, it may reduce development and testing times. In the last technical reports [BBKR10, BBR10], the framework in general was presented under the old name flllip. In the past few months, several enhancements regarding the data type and argument system have been assessed, developed and integrated into the pureImage library. The improvements involve new concepts for argument declaration and, in this context, generic resource allocation, de-allocation and serialization. Furthermore, a new approach for plugin constraints, which, regarding flexibility, turned out superior in comparison to the old system, was also evaluated and integrated. The recent additions are demonstrated using an image argument as illustrative example.
