Use of syringaldazine for detection of laccase in sporophores of wood rotting fungi.

چکیده
Fungal laccase can be detected with the nonautooxidizable laccase specific compound, syringaldazine, in the presence of tyrosinase and per oxidase. Data are presented from tests with the azine derivative of numerous fungous sporophores and associated decayed wood tissues from various localities in Wisconsin and Oregon. Syringaldazine is shown to be a reliable replacement and more specific reagent for the detection of extracellular fungal laccase, and in the absence of laccase and in the pres ence of hydrogen peroxide, for peroxidase. Laccase is further implicated in fruit-body formation.

Expeditious Quantification of Lignocellulolytic Enzymes from Indigenous Wood Rot and Litter Degrading Fungi from Tropical Dry Evergreen Forests of Tamil Nadu
In this study thirty wood rotting and litter degrading basidiomycetes were screened for the production of lignocellulolytic enzymes such as, laccase, peroxidase, and cellulase using rapid micro quantification assay. Out of the 30 indigenous isolates Trametes gibbosa was identified to be a potential lignocellulolytic enzyme producer, producing a maximum amount of cellulase (299.66 ± 1.59 IU/L) a...
متن کاملPotential of Wood-Rotting Fungi to Attack Polystyrene Sulfonate and Its Depolymerisation by Gloeophyllum trabeum via Hydroquinone-Driven Fenton Chemistry
Synthetic polymers often pose environmental hazards due to low biodegradation rates and resulting accumulation. In this study, a selection of wood-rotting fungi representing different lignocellulose decay types was screened for oxidative biodegradation of the polymer polystyrene sulfonate (PSS). Brown-rot basidiomycetes showed PSS depolymerisation of up to 50 % reduction in number-average molec...

The objective of this present study was to isolate a potential laccase producing fungi from the different environmental samples from Gujarat. Eighteen morphologically different fungi were isolated on mineral salts medium having lignin (sole carbon source) and screened qualitatively for their ability to produce laccase by plate screening method using the indicators ABTS, Brilliant Blue R (RBBR),...
متن کاملDetermination of lignin-modifying enzymes (LMEs) in Hyphodermella species using biochemical and molecular techniques
White-rot basidiomycetes are one of the most important lignolytic microorganisms. These fungi have been reported to secrete three main classes of lignin degrading enzymes: lignin peroxidases (LiPs), manganese peroxidases (MnPs) and laccases. In this study, for the first time the lignin degrading capability of two plant pathogens i.e. Hyphodermella rosae and H. corrugata was evaluated using both...

The genus Fonsecaea comprises black yeast-like fungi of clinical relevance, including etiologic agents of chromoblastomycosis and cerebral phaeohyphomycosis. Presence of melanin and assimilation of monoaromatic hydrocarbons and alkylbenzenes have been proposed as virulence factors. Multicopper oxidase (MCO) is a family of enzymes including laccases, ferroxidases and ascorbate oxidases which are...
