چکیده
In our previous papers1,2) it has been reported that spontaneous discharges of the trigeminal motor nucleus and mesencephalic trigeminal nucleus are accelerated by stretching an ipsilateral jaw muscle, and characteristic projections of the spindle afferent impulses from each masticatory muscle in these nuclei were observed. In she present experiment the functional interactions of the impulses from each jaw muscle in these nuclei were studied.

TVR and vibration-induced timing of motor impulses in the human jaw elevator muscles.
In order to investigate myotatic reflex involvement in jaw muscle control, an analysis was made of the motor responses induced by mechanical vibration (120-160 Hz) of the jaw elevator muscles in healthy subjects. As seen in torque measurements and mean-voltage electromyographic (EMG) recordings, the vibration caused involuntary reciprocal changes in jaw muscle tone, the contraction force increa...
متن کاملSENSORIMOTOR CONTROL OVER FUSIMOTOR NEURONS OF THE TENUISSIMUS MUSCLE IN THE A NESTHETIZED CAT: A QUALITATIVE PRIMARY AFFERENT RECORDING
Cortical control of the sensory output of muscle spindles was studied in thirteen anesthetized cats in the present experiment. Gamma motoneuron activity was monitored during electrical stimulation of the sensorimotor cortex while recording from single primary afferents from the tenuissimus muscle. Findings are as follows: 1. The state of anesthesia is crucial in obtaining reproducible resu...
متن کاملCharacteristics of glutamate-evoked temporomandibular joint afferent activity in the rat.
Injection of glutamate into the rat temporomandibular joint (TMJ) capsule can reflexly induce a prolonged increase in the electromyographic (EMG) activity of the jaw muscles, however, the characteristics of TMJ afferents activated by glutamate have not been investigated. In the present study, we examined the effect of glutamate injection into the TMJ capsule on jaw muscle EMG activity and the e...
متن کاملفعالیت فیبرهای گاما در وضعیت استراحت و هنگام کشش های فازیک و تونیک در دوک عضلانی دم Rat
Background and Purpose: Basically, The muscle spindle is innervated by γ – fibers, γ – fibers are divided into phasic and tonic groups on the basis of their function. Ït is believed that phasic one γ innervate all the muscle spindle fibers where as tonic one innervate only tonic muscle spindle fibers and phasic of type two. The purpose of this study was to observe the fiber activity during ph...
متن کاملDerived Mesenchymal Stem Cells in Addiction Related Hippocampal Damages
The brain is an important organ that controls all sensory and motor actions, memory, and emotions. Each anatomical and physiological modulation in various brain centers, results in psychological, behavioral, and sensory-motor changes. Alcohol and addictive drugs such as opioids and amphetamines have been shown to exert a great impact on brain, specifically on the hippocampus. Emerging evidence ...
