چکیده
Uropathogenic organisms have evolved numerous defense mechanisms against antimicrobial agents, hence resistance to old and newly available drugs are increasing at an unprecedented level. The events of antibiotic resistance have lead for screening of several medicinal plants for their potential antimicrobial activity. The aim of this study was to evaluate the antimicrobial efficacy of Cyminumcuminumagainst biofilm Escherichia coli. Cuminis an annual plantof the Umbelliferae family. Cumin is an important medical herb in Asia and has antioxidant, anticholesterol and antimicrobial properties. ethanol extracts of seed of Cyminumcuminumwere tested for antimicrobial activity in vitro by the microdilution method. Ethanol extract of seed exhibited antimicrobial activity against biofilm Escherichia coli. It can be concluded that Cyminumcuminumcan be used to discover natural products that may serve as lead for the development of new pharmaceuticals, addressing the major therapeutic needs especially for biofilm E.coli. Key word: Cumin, CyminumCuminum, Biofilm, Ecoli, Antibacterial Activity

Environmental pollution from pesticides is an important issue that attracts wide spread public concern. Among these organophosphate pesticides are routinely used in agriculture. Chloropyrifos toxicity has been largely associated with irreversible inhibition of acetyl-cholinesterase resulting in accumulation of acetylcholine in the cholinergic receptors. Organochlorine insecticides, caused degen...
