Block-Krylov techniques in the context of sparse-FGLM algorithms

چکیده
Consider a zero-dimensional ideal I in K[X1, . . . ,Xn]. Inspired by Faugère and Mou’s Sparse FGLM algorithm, we use Krylov sequences based on multiplication matrices of I in order to compute a description of its zero set by means of univariate polynomials. Steel recently showed how to use Coppersmith’s block-Wiedemann algorithm in this context; he describes an algorithm that can be easily parallelized, but only computes parts of the output in this manner. Using generating series expressions going back to work of Bostan, Salvy, and Schost, we show how to compute the entire output for a small overhead, without making any assumption on the ideal I other than it having dimension zero. We then propose a refinement of this idea that partially avoids the introduction of a generic linear form. We comment on experimental results obtained by an implementation based on the C++ libraries LinBox, Eigen and NTL.

Block Algorithms for Quark Propagator Calculation
Computing quark propagators in lattice QCD is equivalent to solving large, sparse linear systems with multiple right-hand sides. Block algorithms attempt to accelerate the convergence of iterative Krylov-subspace methods by solving the multiple systems simultaneously. This paper compares a block generalisation of the quasi-minimal residual method (QMR), Block Conjugate Gradient on the normal eq...
متن کاملFace Recognition in Thermal Images based on Sparse Classifier
Despite recent advances in face recognition systems, they suffer from serious problems because of the extensive types of changes in human face (changes like light, glasses, head tilt, different emotional modes). Each one of these factors can significantly reduce the face recognition accuracy. Several methods have been proposed by researchers to overcome these problems. Nonetheless, in recent ye...
متن کاملBlock Krylov Subspace Recycling for Shifted Systems with Unrelated Right-Hand Sides
Many Krylov subspace methods for shifted linear systems take advantage of the invariance of the Krylov subspace under a shift of the matrix. However, exploiting this fact in the non-Hermitian case introduces restrictions; e.g., initial residuals must be collinear and this collinearity must be maintained at restart. Thus we cannot simultaneously solve shifted systems with unrelated right-hand si...
متن کاملModel reduction for dynamical systems with quadratic output
Finite element models for structures and vibrations often lead to second order dynamical systems with large sparse matrices. For large-scale finite element models, the computation of the frequency response function and the structural response to dynamic loads may present a considerable computational cost. Padé via Krylov methods are widely used and appreciated projection-based model reduction t...
متن کاملBlock-Based Compressive Sensing Using Soft Thresholding of Adaptive Transform Coefficients
Compressive sampling (CS) is a new technique for simultaneous sampling and compression of signals in which the sampling rate can be very small under certain conditions. Due to the limited number of samples, image reconstruction based on CS samples is a challenging task. Most of the existing CS image reconstruction methods have a high computational complexity as they are applied on the entire im...
