Higher order infinitesimal bending of a class of toroids

چکیده
In this paper we consider higher order infinitesimal bending of a surface in E3. Sufficient condition for a toroid generated by polygonal meridian to be non-rigid of higher order is given. This work is an extension of the results [1]-[7]. Examples of non-rigid surfaces, with visual presentation of infinitesimal bending are given. AMS Subj. Class.: 53A05, 53C45, 68U05

Curvebend Graphical Tool for Presentation of Infinitesimal Bending of Curves
An infinitesimal bending of the curve at E is considered and the infinitesimal bending field is determined and discussed. CurveBend, tool for graphical presentation of non rigid curves is presented. Influence of infinitesimal bending field on curves is discussed and visualized by the tool.
متن کاملBending and Free Vibration Analyses of Rectangular Laminated Composite Plates Resting on Elastic Foundation Using a Refined Shear Deformation Theory
In this paper, a closed form solution for bending and free vibration analyses of simply supported rectangular laminated composite plates is presented. The static and free vibration behavior of symmetric and antisymmetric laminates is investigated using a refined first-order shear deformation theory. The Winkler–Pasternak two-parameter model is employed to express the interaction between the lam...
متن کاملBending and Free Vibration Analysis of Functionally Graded Plates via Optimized Non-polynomial Higher Order Theories
Optimization concept in the context of shear deformation theories was born for the development of accurate models to study the bending problem of structures. The present study seeks to extend such an approach to the dynamic analysis of plates. A compact and unified formulation with non-polynomial shear strain shape functions (SSSFs) is employed to develop a static and free vibration analysis of...
متن کاملInfinitesimal Bending and Twisting in One-dimensional Dynamics
An infinitesimal theory for bending and earthquaking in onedimensional dynamics is developed. It is shown that any tangent vector to Teichmuller space is the initial data for a bending and for an earthquaking ordinary differential equation. The discussion involves an analysis of infinitesimal bendings and earthquakes, the Hilbert transform, natural bounded linear operators from a Banach space o...
متن کاملTime study of DNA condensate morphology: implications regarding the nucleation, growth, and equilibrium populations of toroids and rods.
It is well known that multivalent cations cause free DNA in solution to condense into nanometer-scale particles with toroidal and rod-like morphologies. However, it has not been shown to what degree kinetic factors (e.g., condensate nucleation) versus thermodynamic factors (e.g., DNA bending energy) determine experimentally observed relative populations of toroids and rods. It is also not clear...
