چکیده
The Morphology of the Amoebae which are pathogenic to man has been studied by many of the older writers. I need here only mention the work of Loesch, Kruse and Pasquale, Councilman and Lafleur, Kartulis, Barbagallo and Casngrandi, and Jurgens, men who laid the foundations of our knowledge of the subject. But simple guides for the differentiation of the various kinds of amoebfe had not been discovered

Syntheses and Biological screening of Schiff base complexes of Titanium(IV)
The novel titanium(IV) complexes of composition [TiCl2(SB)2] have been synthesized by reacting TiCl4 and Schiff bases (SBs) where (SBs = A1( tetracycline hydrochloride schiffs base) ;B1(Streptomycin schiffs base ) ;C1( Ceffixime schiffs base) ;D1( ampicillin schiffs base) in fixed molar ratio 1:2. Titanium and chlorine estimation were estimated by gravimetrical and Volhard method respectively. ...

Modulation of the in vivo covalent binding of the carcinogen benzo(a)pyrene to rat liver DNA by selective induction of microsomal and nuclear aryl hydrocarbon hydroxylase activity.
The influence of microsomal (mAHH) and nuclear (nAHH) aryl hydrocarbon hydroxylase activity on the covalent binding of tritiated benzo(a)pyrene to rat liver DNA was evaluated in vivo. Induction of mAHH was obtained after phenobarbitone treatment (180% of control), which increased DNA binding to 210%, but left the nAHH unchanged. mAHH and nAHH were slightly induced with dieldrin (130% and 120%),...

Background and Objectives: Vibrio parahaemolyticus is the causative agent of gastroenteritis due to consumption of contaminated seafood. The aim of the present study was to determine the chemical composition of Essential Oils (EOs) of five plants (Artemisia absinthium, Zataria multiflora Boiss., Pulicaria gnaphalodes, Trachyspermum ammi and Cuminum cyminum) and to evaluate their antimicrobial a...
متن کاملInter-individual variations in carcinogen metabolism.
Explant cultures of human tissues metabolized chemical carcinogens into the ultimate carcinogenic form as measured by binding to cellular DNA. A wide inter-individual variation in the binding level of many chemical carcinogens to target cell DNA was observed, whereas lesser inter-individual variation was observed in primary epithelial cell cultures derived from the explants. The binding levels ...
