ASPECTS OF CURRENT MANAGEMENT The floating shoulder

چکیده
J Bone Joint Surg [Br] 2006;88-B:1419-24. The floating shoulder is defined as ipsilateral fractures of the midshaft of the clavicle and the neck of the glenoid. This rare injury can be difficult to manage without a thorough understanding of the complex anatomy of the shoulder girdle. Surgical intervention needs to be considered for all of these injuries. While acceptable results can be expected with non-operative management of minimally-displaced fractures, displacement at one or both sites is best managed with surgical reduction and fixation.

Impact of floating platforms on the limnological aspects of hydropower plant reservoirs
Floating platforms at the hydropower plant reservoirs are attractive sites for aquaculture, fishing and other recreational activities. However, the unregulated construction of these platforms may negatively affect the fauna, flora and water quality of reservoirs. Thus, this study aimed to evaluate the impact of floating platforms on the limnological aspects of Nova Ponte hydropower plant reserv...
متن کامل3-D Printing Technique to Aid Surgical Planning in Treatment of Floating Shoulder Injury: A Case Report
The term ‘‘floating shoulder ’’ was introduced by Herscovici in 1992 [1], charactered by ipsilateral scapular neck and clavicular shaft fractures. The definition of ‘floating shoulder’’ has been criticized by many authors, and the widely accepted definition is a double disruption of the superior suspensory shoulder complex (SSSC) [2-5]. SSSC is a bony/soft tissue structure, playing important ro...
متن کاملArthroscopic Management of Posterior Instability due to “Floating” Posterior Inferior Glenohumeral Ligament Lesions
The "floating" posterior inferior glenohumeral ligament (floating PIGHL) is an uncommon cause of posterior shoulder instability. This pathologic lesion, defined as detachment of both the origin of the PIGHL (posterior Bankart lesion) and insertion of the of the PIGHL from its humeral head insertion site, often results in significant and persistent shoulder instability symptoms. An effective sur...
متن کاملImplementation of Floating Output Interleaved Input DC-DC Boost Converter
This paper presents the analysin ,design and implementation of a high voltage ratio topology of DC-DC converter. The DC-DC converter has high voltage ratio with reduced input current, output voltage and output current ripple, and also reduces the voltage and current rating of power electronics components and compared with conventional boost converter. The voltage stress on the switches are red...
متن کاملFloating shoulder: ipsilateral clavicle, scapular body and glenoid fracture. A case report.
ABSTRACT We present a case of shoulder instability following a traffic accident. Allman Type I midshaft clavicle, Ideberg Type II glenoid and DeCloux Type I scapular body fractures were diagnosed following radiologic examination. There were no signs of ligamentous injury. Mechanical instability was noted at the shoulder due to breakage of the supportive bony skeleton. The patient was treated su...
