چکیده

We deal with multi-agent Markov Decision Processes (MDP’s) in which cooperation among players is allowed. We find a cooperative payoff distribution procedure (MDP-CPDP) that distributes in the course of the game the payoff that players would earn in the long run game. We show under which conditions such a MDP-CPDP fulfills a time consistency property, contents greedy players, and strengthen the coalition cohesiveness throughout the game. Finally we refine the concept of Core for Cooperative MDP’s.

Optimal Decision Rules in Repeated Games Where Players Infer an Opponent's Mind via Simplified Belief Calculation

In strategic situations, humans infer the state of mind of others, e.g., emotions or intentions, adapting their behavior appropriately. Nonetheless, evolutionary studies of cooperation typically focus only on reaction norms, e.g., tit for tat, whereby individuals make their next decisions by only considering the observed outcome rather than focusing on their opponent’s state of mind. In this pa...

A Selective Push Algorithm for Cooperative Cache Consistency Maintenance over MANETs

Cooperative caching is an important technique to support efficient data dissemination and sharing in Mobile Ad hoc Networks (MANETs). In order to ensure valid data access, the cache consistency must be maintained properly. Many existing cache consistency maintenance algorithms are stateless, in which the data source node is unaware of the cache status at each caching node. Even though stateless...

The competitive advantages analysis of pharmaceutical industry strategic behaviors by game theory

Game theory is the study of mathematical models and cooperation between intelligent rational decision-makers. This paper provides a flexible model to calculate pay-off matrix based on several importance factors. This model is adapted by cooperative game and developed for some competitive advantages sections in pharmaceutical industry. An optimum solution is derived by considering Nash equilibri...

Social rank and social cooperation: Impact of social comparison processes on cooperative decision-making

Successful navigation of our complex social world requires the capability to recognize and judge the relative status of others. Hence, social comparison processes are of great importance in our interactions, informing us of our relative standing and in turn potentially motivating our behavior. However, so far few studies have examined in detail how social comparison can influence interpersonal ...

A Description–Experience Gap in Social Interactions: Information about Interdependence and Its Effects on Cooperation

In social interactions, decision makers are often unaware of their interdependence with others, precluding the realization of shared long-term benefits. In an experiment, pairs of participants played an Iterated Prisoner’s Dilemma under various conditions involving differing levels of interdependence information. Each pair was assigned to one of four conditions: “No-Info” players saw their own ...
