On single-scanline camera calibration

A method for calibrating single scanline CCD cameras is described in this paper. We show that the more classical 2-D camera calibration techniques are necessary but not suflicient for solving for the 1-D camera calibration problem. We propose a model for single scanline cameras, and we provide a two-step procedure for estimating its parameters. We also show how the extrinsic camera parameters can be determined geometrically without making explicit the intrinsic camera parameters. The accuracy of the calibration method is analyzed through an application example.
