چکیده

This paper presents for the first time an anterior opercular syndrome in association with a gait disorder, dropped head syndrome, dysphagia, and sialorrhea in a neuropathologically proven case of frontotemporal lobar degeneration with ubiquitin inclusions.

Frontotemporal lobar degeneration with ubiquitin-only-immunoreactive neuronal changes: broadening the clinical picture to include progressive supranuclear palsy.

The frontotemporal lobar degenerations (FTLDs) are a group of disorders in which the clinical picture is not necessarily predictive of the underlying neuropathology. The FTLD with ubiquitin-only-immunoreactive neuronal changes (FTLD-U) subtype is pathologically characterized by ubiquitin-positive, tau and alpha-synuclein-negative neuronal cytoplasmic inclusions in the frontotemporal cortex and ...

Neuropathologic features of frontotemporal lobar degeneration with ubiquitin-positive inclusions with progranulin gene (PGRN) mutations.

Frontotemporal lobar degeneration is heterogeneous; cases with tau- and synuclein-negative, ubiquitin-positive neuronal inclusions are the most common, and some have mutations in the gene for progranulin (PGRN). The purpose of this study was to determine whether there were distinctive clinical and neuropathologic features of frontotemporal lobar degeneration with ubiquitin-positive inclusions w...

Atypical frontotemporal lobar degeneration with ubiquitin-positive, TDP-43-negative neuronal inclusions.

Frontotemporal lobar degeneration with ubiquitinated inclusions (FTLD-U) is the most common neuropathology associated with the clinical syndrome of frontotemporal dementia (FTD). Recently, TDP-43 was identified as the ubiquitinated pathological protein in both FTLD-U and sporadic amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. Although a number of studies have now confirmed that most sporadic and familial cases...

A Case of Frontotemporal Lobar Degeneration with Progressive Dysarthria

We investigated the evolution of the neurological and neuropsychological characteristics in a right-handed woman who was 53-years-old at the onset and who showed personality changes and behavioral disorders accompanied by progressive dysarthria. She had hypernasality and a slow rate of speech with distorted consonants and vowels, which progressed as motor disturbances affecting her speech appar...

Neuropathologic features of frontotemporal lobar degeneration with ubiquitin-positive inclusions visualized with ubiquitin-binding protein p62 immunohistochemistry.

Genetic, clinical, and neuropathologic heterogeneity have been observed in frontotemporal lobar degeneration with ubiquitin (Ubq)-positive inclusions (FTLD-U) and FTLD-U with motor neuron disease. Here, the distribution and morphologic features of neuronal and glial inclusions in the brains of 20 FTLD-U and 2 FTLD-U/motor neuron disease cases were assessed using immunohistochemistry for Ubq-bin...
