چکیده

Transient mid-ventricular ballooning syndrome is a variant form of Takotsubo cardiomyopathy (TTC). The precipitating factors and clinical course are similar, and the clinical manifestations mimic those of acute coronary syndrome, which are characterized by transient left ventricular dysfunction without significant coronary artery disease. Takotsubo cardiomyopathy with transient left bundle branch block (LBBB) is rare. Herein, we describe the case of a 64-year-old woman who had a transient mid-ventricular apical ballooning syndrome. Electrocardiography (ECG) revealed a transient LBBB.

Association of Posterior Reversible Encephalopathy Syndrome and Transient Apical Ballooning Syndrome (Takotsubo): First Case Report of a Man and Review of the Literature

INTRODUCTION An association of posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome (PRES) and takotsubo is rare. We present the first case of a male patient. CASE REPORT A 69-year-old man presented to the hospital in a persistent comatose state following a generalized tonic-clonic seizure with high blood pressure. The electrocardiogram revealed transient left bundle branch block. Troponin and BNP we...

Vector electrocardiographic alterations after percutaneous septal ablation in obstructive hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. Possible anatomic causes.

OBJECTIVE Analyze the dromotropic disturbances (vector-electrocardiographic), and the possible anatomic causes, provoked by selective alcohol injection in the septal branch, for percutaneous treatment, of obstructive hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. METHODS Ten patients with a mean age of 52.7 years underwent percutaneous septal ablation (PTSA) from october 1998; all in functional class III/IV). ...

Comment on “Takotsubo Cardiomyopathy: A New Perspective in Asthma”

I read with interest the study by Marmoush et al. [1] about the 80-year-old woman with an exacerbation of her asthma who suffered Takotsubo syndrome (TTS), after using “her rescue albuterol inhaler several times.” As the authors state this is not the first case of an albuterol-triggered TTS, as shown by many similar cases of TTS published as single case reports and series of patients derived fr...

An Unusual Cause of Transient Ischemic Attack in a Patient with Pacemaker

Pacemaker lead malposition in various locations has been described in the literature. Lead malposition in left ventricle is a rare and an underdiagnosed complication. We present a 77-year-old man with history of atrial fibrillation and pacemaker placement who was admitted for transient ischemic attack. He was on aspirin, beta blocker, and warfarin with subtherapeutic international normalized ra...
