One-Particle vs. Two-Particle Crossover in Weakly Coupled Hubbard Chains and Ladders: Perturbative Renormalization Group Approach

چکیده
Physical nature of dimensional crossovers in coupled one-dimensional systems has currently provoked a great deal of controversy. Recent discovery of the superconductivity in the doped spin ladder under pressure has stimulated us to study the dimensional crossover problem in the weakly coupled ladder system. In the present work, based on the perturbative renormarization-group approach (PRG) developed by Bourbonnais and Caron, we discuss the dimensional crossovers induced by the inter-chain/ladder one-particle hopping, t⊥, in the weakly coupled chains or ladders, with emphasis on the differences between these systems.

Interplay of Correlation, Randomness and Dimensionality Ef- fects in Weakly-Coupled Half-Filled Random Hubbard Chains
We study interplay of electronic correlation, randomness and dimensionality effects in half-filled random Hubbard chains weakly coupled via an interchain one-particle hopping. Based on the two-loop renormalization-group approach, phase diagrams are given in terms of temperature vs. strengths of the intrachain electron-electron umklapp scattering, the random scattering and the interchain one-par...
متن کاملN-chain Hubbard model in weak coupling
We present a systematic weak-coupling renormalization group ~RG! technique for studying a collection of N coupled one-dimensional interacting electron systems, focusing on the example of N-leg Hubbard ladders. For N52,3, we recover previous results, and find that also more generally broad regions of the phase space of these models are unstable to pairing, usually with approximate d-wave symmetr...
متن کاملA NUMERICAL RENORMALIZATION GROUP APPROACH FOR AN ELECTRON-PHONON INTERACTION
A finite chain calculation in terms of Hubbard X-operators is explored by setting up a vibronic Harniltonian. The model conveniently transformed into a form so that in the case of strong coupling a numerical renormalization group approach is applicable. To test the technique, a one particle Green function is calculated for the model Harniltonian

The stability of the Luttinger liquid to small transverse hopping has been studied from several points of view. The renormalization group approach in particular has been criticized because it does not take explicitly into account the difference between spin and charge velocities and because the interaction should be turned-on before the transverse hopping if the stability of the Luttinger liqui...
متن کاملCreation and destruction of a spin gap in weakly coupled quarter-filled ladders.
We investigate weakly coupled quarter-filled ladders with model parameters relevant for NaV(2)O(5) using density-matrix renormalization group calculations on an extended Hubbard model coupled to the lattice. NaV(2)O(5) exhibits super-antiferroelectric charge order with a zigzag pattern on each ladder. We show that this order causes a spin dimerization along the ladder and is accompanied by a sp...
