چکیده

Surface charge density studies as well as characterizations of coagulated dye sludge were investigated to explain the mechanism which takes place during removal of dyes from effluents by chemical coagulation. A simple laboratory model was used to compare two commercially used textile azo dyes: CI “Reactive Black 5” and “Acid Black 1” that were coagulated with synthetic primary coagulants have been chosen. Parallel to measurement of surface charge density of coagulated dye sludge, size and shape analysis of flocs was done in order to link surface charge data with floc properties and on this basis to outline the predominant mechanism of colour removal.

Color Removal from Simulated Textile Effluents Using Clean Electrocoagulation Technique

The present work was directed toward the successful ability of electerocoagulation to remove color from synthetic and simulated textile effluent by aluminum/iron electrodes. Two representative reactive dyes were selected for the synthetic dye system, a black dye alone and mixed dye (black, blue, red, 1:1:1 vol/vol). Several important operating parameters such as electrode material, initial pH(3...

Valorization of Waste Obtained from Oil Extraction in Moringa Oleifera Seeds: Coagulation of Reactive Dyes in Textile Effluents

Moringa oleifera seeds contain about 40% of highly valued oil due to its wide range of applications, from nutritional issues to cosmetics or biodiesel production. The extraction of Moringa oil generates a waste (65%-75% of seeds weight) which contains a water soluble protein able to be used either in drinking water clarification or wastewater treatment. In this paper, the waste of Moringa oleif...

Treatment of Synthetic Textile Wastewater by Combination of Coagulation/Flocculation Process and Electron Beam Irradiation

Introduction: Textile wastewaters from dyeing and finishing processes are heavily polluted with dyes, textile auxiliaries and chemicals and have a broad range of pH, high COD concentration and suspended particles. In this study, the efficiency of color and turbidity removal from synthetic textile wastewater samples were investigated by combined process of coagulation/ flocculation and electron ...

Electerocoagulation of Blue and Mixed Azo Dyes and Application in Treating Simulated Textile Effluent

This study investigated the efficiency of electerocoagulation (EC) in removing color from synthetic and simulated textile wastewater. The study on decolorization of mixed dyes is a step toward an effective treatment of textile wastewater. Two representative reactive dye molecules were selected for the synthetic dye wastewater, a blue dye alone and mixed dye (black, blue, red, 1:1:1v/v). The EC ...

Hpan Textile Fiber Wastes for Removal of Dyes from Industrial Textile Effluents

The paper presents our new results about efficiency of wastes based on hydrolyzed polyacrylonitrile textile fibers (HPAN) as sorbents in removal of some dyes from textile effluents. The effect of some experimental variables such as initial dye concentration, sorbent mass, pH, temperature, and contact time were investigated. The sorbent dye sorption systems are described using Freundlich, Langmu...
