The Bulk Josephson response of the d - g - wave cuprate superconductor

چکیده
We consider the implications of the small Fermi surface for the ab-plane microwave absorption. The small Fermi surface results in two superconducting condensates. Linear combinations of these condensates correspond to the d-and g-wave pairings. Microwave electric field applied in the ab-plane induces Josephson transitions between the condensates. Dependence of the absorption upon direction, amplitude and frequency of the external microwave field is calculated. Results of the calculation are compared with the observed recently novel non-linear phenomena in microwave absorption of Y BaCu 2 O 7−δ single crystals.

Two decades ago the epoch making discovery of high Tc cuprate superconductivity by Bednorz and Müller shocked the world’s superconductivity community. However, already in 1979 and 1980, the first heavy fermion superconductor CeCu2Si2 and organic superconductor (TMTSF)2PF6 have been discovered respectively. Also we know now that all these superconductors are unconventional and nodal. Further t...
متن کاملWhat Does the Josephson Effect Tell Us about the Superconducting State of the Cuprates?
The defining property of a superconductor is the stiffness of its phase. In conventional lowTc superconductors this stiffness is so large that in order to directly observe its finite value one has to create a region where it is locally suppressed, the so-called superconducting weak link. The resulting weak link region gives rise to a variety of Josephson effects (for a review, see [1]), in whic...
متن کاملPossibility of c-axis voltage steps for a cuprate superconductor in a resonant cavity
Very anisotropic cuprate superconductors, such as BiSr2Ca2CuO81x , when driven by currents parallel to the c axis, behave like stacks of underdamped Josephson junctions. Here, we analyze the possibility that such a stack can be caused to phase lock, to exhibit self-induced resonant voltage steps ~SIRS’s!, and hence to radiate coherently when placed in a suitable resonant electromagnetic cavity....
متن کاملParametric Amplification of a Superconducting Plasma Wave
Many applications in photonics require all-optical manipulation of plasma waves1, which can concentrate electromagnetic energy on sub-wavelength length scales. This is difficult in metallic plasmas because of their small optical nonlinearities. Some layered superconductors support Josephson plasma waves (JPWs)2,3, involving oscillatory tunneling of the superfluid between capacitively coupled pl...

Charge and spin transport properties of a clean $SNS$ Josephson junction (triplet superconductor-normal metal-triplet superconductor) are studied using the quasiclassical Eilenberger equation of Green’s function. Our system consists of two p-wave superconducting crystals separated by a Copper nano layer. Effects of thickness of normal layer between superconductors on the spin and charge current...
